Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the GT63 S E Performance, its fastest production car ever. The car is built on the same technical solutions that Mercedes-AMG uses in Formula 1.
The GT63 S E Performance is powered by a 4.0-L biturbo V8 engine (612 hp/456 kW) combined with an electric motor (204 hp/152 kW) for a total output of 816 hp (608 kW) and 1,047 lb-ft (1,420 Nm) torque. This is enough for the car to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).
The car is equipped with a 6.1 kWh battery that enables an electric range of up to 13 kilometers. Power is sent to all wheels via a 9-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Mercedes-AMG equipped this model with a special equipment package that includes active aerodynamics, adaptive suspension, rear axle steering, eight operating programs, carbon-ceramic brakes with 420 mm (front) and 380 mm (rear) discs, and a set of 20-inch rims wrapped in 295/35 front and 305/35 rear tires. 21-inch wheels are also available as an option.
Sales will start by the end of 2024, and the price is currently unknown.
