Daydream Porsche 964

Recently, many restomod Porsche cars can be seen at various events, and one of them made its debut at the New York Auto Show. It is the Daydream car, based on the Porsche 964, by Tedson Motors.

The company’s intention was to revive this car and present it in a more modern design. The front part is done in the style of the 992 model, especially the front and rear LED lights but with better aerodynamics. With much respect to the competition, Tedson Motors wanted to go a different route. Therefore, they developed Daydream based on the Porsche 911 (964) with a focus on a modern look.

The car was first scanned and then, using AutoCAD, the bumpers, mudguards, sills, lights and duck tail were adapted to the current millennium. All body panels except the roof and doors are made of carbon fiber, making it lighter than the standard model. “These improvements make the car more aggressive, but the original DNA remains intact as a testament to the brilliant design of the Porsche 911,” said Tedson Motors.

Daydream is available in Super Sport and Sport Classic versions. The Super Sport comes in black with lots of carbon and modern 18- or 19-inch rims. Both cars presented in America are Sport Classic models, with racing decals, equipped with Fuchs 17 or 18-inch rims and retro interior. They are also equipped with improved front and rear anti-roll bars, a complete Brembo braking system, a custom suspension and a hundred wide Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires.

When it comes to the powertrain, engineers disassembled the original 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine and increased its displacement to 4.0 liters, adding an electric motor between the engine and the transmission. The result is a very good 385 hp (283 kW) and 315 lb-ft (427 Nm) of torque available in standard mode. In Sport mode, the car has the full power of the internal combustion engine with 50 percent of the power of the electric motor, for 459 hp (338 kW) and 390 lb-ft (529 Nm) of torque. In Sport Plus mode, the car unleashes its full output of 533 hp (392 kW) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque.
