Porsche 911 Restomod with BMW powertrain

In the world of Porsche 911 we have already seen several successful aftermarket restomod projects based on this sports car. So far, there have been examples with conventional engines, but also electrical transformations for almost all older generations of coupes. However, now the Bulgarian company Modern Classics has presented a pilot project based on the Porsche 911 from the G series.

The original design from the 70s has been retained. The car is equipped with ABS, ESP, BMW infotainment system with controls on the center console. The cluster contains analog dials in the same configuration as in the case of the original vehicle.

The Porsche 911 is powered by a BMW electric motor that develops 184 hp (135 kW). The same engine is used by the more powerful versions of the previous BMW i3. It may not sound like much, but it is still more powerful than the original Carrera from the 70’s. It reaches 62 mph in 6.8 seconds and reaches a top electronically limited speed of 160 km / h.

It is equipped with a 42 kWh battery, which is enough for a range of 250 kilometers on a single charge. Two charging options are available, slow AC charging with a maximum power of 11 kW and fast DC charging up to 50 kW. This means that the mentioned battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent of capacity in about 30 minutes.

2017 Ferrari 488 GTB crashed after only 3 kilometers

Car accidents happen all the time, but some of them are more unfortunate than others. One such happened recently in the UK when the owner of a 2017 Ferrari 488 GTB smashed his car after just 3 kilometers.

Exactly how the accident happened is not known. According to the published photos, the car hit the protective fence and ended up on the roadside due to the force of the impact. The headlights are broken, the bonnet is bent, damage is also visible on the front bumper, the front part of the wheel arches, while the rest of the car is intact.

Police said no one was injured in the crash, except perhaps the driver’s ego. By the way, Ferrari is painted in Rosso Corsa color, and so far it has had two owners. It is equipped with a Carbon package that includes carbon components and a slightly higher price, while it has 21,565 kilometers on the odometer.

The Ferrari 488 GTB is powered by a 3.9-liter V8 engine with 661 hp (493 kW) and 561 lb-ft (761 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission. It reaches 62 mph in about 3 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph (330 km / h).

2023 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe

The second generation Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe is currently in the testing phase. The new photos show a test model on the Nürburgring Nordschleife that was brought in a truck in order to hide the design of the new model as much as possible.

The car is covered with camouflage, so it is difficult to see the exact details. It is assumed that the design will be reminiscent of the SL Roadster, which Mercedes revived under AMG in late 2021, but with some revolutionary design details. Anyway, it is certain that each model will have its own audience that will enjoy the driving experience, claims Mercedes.

When it comes to the drivetrain, there is no accurate information. The entry GT 53 should be powered by a 4.0L biturbo V8 engine with 470 hp (350 kW) and 512 lb-ft (694 Nm) of torque, like the Mercedes-AMG SL, which is enough to accelerate to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 183 mph (295 km / h). The more powerful version of the GT 63 should have 577 hp (430 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, which is enough to reach 62 mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph (315 km / h).

Recently, spy photos from the snowy roads of the north were published where the capabilities of the new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe were tested.
