Porsche achieved sales growth in 2021

After Rolls Royce’s record sales in 2021, Porsche also announced that it achieved sales growth of 11 percent compared to 2020. According to the report, Porsche sold over 300,000 cars in the previous year. Most importantly, the company has achieved growth in all parts of the world.

Porsche achieved the highest sales growth in the United States with 22 percent (70,025 cars), Germany with 9 percent (28,565 cars) and China with 8 percent (96,671 cars).

When it comes to Europe, 40 percent of total sales (86,160 cars) are plug-in hybrid and fully electric models. The best-selling Porsche model is the Macan (88,262 units), and what is most surprising is that the Taycan surpassed the 911 model in sales. The popular “elf” achieved a historic result with 38,464 units sold.

“Despite the challenges posed by the semi-conductor shortage and the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic we have been working hard to enable more customers than ever before to fulfill their dream of owning a Porsche. Demand remains high and our order books are looking very robust, so we start 2022 full of momentum and confidence in all regions of the world, ”said sales and marketing boss Detlec von Platen.

Of the other models, the Panamera (30,220 units) and the 718 Boxster / Cayman (20,502 units) sold the most. In the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and the Middle East, Porsche achieved sales growth of 8 percent with 131,098 cars sold.

Porsche 993 Speedster on the road

A few months ago, American tuner Gunther Werks introduced the Porsche 993 Speedster Remastered, and only 25 individuals will have the opportunity to own this model. It is based on the 911 model, with the body painted in a light green shade.

The Porsche Speedster is powered by a 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 435 hp (324 kW) at 7,800 rpm and 335 lb-ft (454 Nm) of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, and there are three driving modes on offer: Composed, Sport and Sport Plus. It is mounted on wide Continental tires.

Although similar to the models produced by Gunther Werks for a long time, Speedster has a slightly larger wheelbase, front and rear roll bars, adjustable suspension, carbon fiber front spoiler, centrally placed exhaust pipes, redesigned rear tail, revised differential.

The guys from YouTube channel TheSmokingTire tested the car on the road. The first thing they noticed was that the controls were havy and the clutch was nice and smooth. Overall, they were pleased with the vehicle’s performance.

Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport tire problems

Tires are one of the most important, if not the most important, part of a car. We can say that the life of the driver depends on the quality of the tires, and Bugatti seems to have a serious problem with them. According to some information, Bugatti will withdraw the Chiron Pur Sport model because after 2,500 miles (4,000 km), damage (cracks) appear on the tires. This can be very dangerous for the driver, especially if the car can reach a top speed of 217 mph (350 km / h).

The tires that are causing the potential problem are the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R. The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport uses 21-inch rims wrapped in 355/25 R21 (rear) tires. The company has not yet found a solution to this problem. The only thing left for vehicle owners is to change their tires after 2000 miles (3,200 km) or 18 months.

The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is powered by a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine with 1,480 hp (1,103 kW) and 1,180 lb-ft (1600 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. With a weight of 4450 lb it reaches 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds.

Tire replacement will be free of charge until a solution is found or a tire that does not have this problem is produced.
