Manhart MH2 450 based on the BMW M240i

After the German tuner company Manhart introduced the MHX3 600 last month, this time another model from the BMW family was presented. It is a Manhart MH2 450 model based on the M240i xDrive.

The Manhart MH2 450 is powered by a 3.0-liter biturbo V6 engine with 450 hp (331 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. This is a significant increase in power given that the standard M240i has 374 hp (275 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The MH2 450 is painted black with standard gold stripes on the sides and the entire length of the car. It is equipped with several carbon body elements, a remapped ECU, a new stainless steel exhaust system, a downpipe race without a catalytic converter, and is driven on reinforced 20-inch aluminum rims with a golden pinstripe on the rim edge.

There is no data on price and performance for now. Given the projects for which Manhart used the last BMW M2 (F87), it is realistic to expect that their creation will have more than the stated 650 hp.

Lancia Stratos Zero

Lately, we are increasingly witnessing cars that are ahead of their time in terms of design. One such is the car of the Italian company Lancia, Lancia Stratos Zero. The current owner bought the car in 2011 for €761,000.

The car was designed by Marcello Gandini who designed the legendary Lamborghini Countach and Citroen BX models. While working for car designer and constructor Nuccio Bertone, Gandini secretly worked on the Stratos Zero concept. Components of Lancia Fulvia were used in the production. The car is designed very low with a centrally mounted engine.

No one found out about the secret project until Bertone unannouncedly drove the car to Lancia’s headquarters, passing under a closed ramp. The car was parked in a place where all the most important employees could see it. The Lancia Stratos Zero was presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1970.

After that, Lancia offered Bartone a contract to develop this model as a race car. Bertone’s plan to attract Lancia’s attention succeeded.

The Lancia Stratos Zero is powered by a 1.6 L Lancia Fulvia V4 engine with 115 hp (85 kW) and 113 lb-ft (153 Nm) of torque. It reaches 60 mph in 9.4 seconds with a top speed of 103 mph (166 km / h). The engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission.
