1967 Porsche 912 Coupe is up for auction

In 1965, Porsche unveiled an entry-level variant of the 911, the Porsche 912. It was produced until 1969, and more than 32,000 cars left the production line. One of them, a 1967 Porsche 912 Coupe, is up for auction.

The Porsche 912 is powered by a 1.6L flat-four engine with 90 hp (66 kW) and 91 lb-ft (123 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. It sits on 15” Fuchs-style wheels wrapped in 195/65 BFGoodrich Touring T/A tires.

This car is finished in Slate Grey, has not been properly maintained and is in pretty bad shape. The owner reported that the gearbox is stuck in gear and the engine dies when the clutch is engaged. Rust is present in several places. It is equipped with front fog lamps, tinted windows, pop-out rear 3/4 windows, and a driver’s side mirror. Valve adjustment, carburetor rebuilds, and replacement of the belts, spark plugs, and distributor points were done five years ago.

Inside, the front bucket seats are covered in black vinyl while the rear seats and door panels are covered in red vinyl. In front of the driver is a four-spoke steering wheel behind which is a odometer showing 85,579 miles. Additional equipment includes black carpets, a JVC AM/FM cassette player, a leather shifter and rubber front floor mats. The siren and heater are inoperative, while the previously installed keyless entry system and alarm system have been removed.

The car comes with shop manuals, service records from 1999 to the present, and a clean Idaho title in the seller’s name, listing the vehicle as a 1968 model year. No Carfax.

The auction ends on January 8th and the current highest bid is $18,000 USD.
