1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI Coupe is for sale

In 1974, Porsche launched the Carrera 2.7, powered by an engine with a Bosch mechanical fuel injection pump (MFI). The car was produced for all markets except the United States, and by 1976, 1,647 cars had left the assembly line. One of them, a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI Coupe, is up for auction.

The 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI is powered by an air-cooled 2.7L flat-six engine with 210 hp (150 kW) and 188 lb-ft (255 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 915 5-speed manual transmission. It reaches 60 mph in 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 148 mph (238 km/h). It is mounted on a set of silver 15″ Fuchs wheels with black insets wrapped in Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires.

The car is finished in Grand Prix White, has been well maintained and is in excellent condition. It is equipped with a ducktail spoiler (outlawed by the TÜV road homologation department in Germany), and a driver-side mirror, rear bumpers, Bilstein shocks, Elephant Racing spring plate adjusters on the rear suspension. This year, the left-side camshaft, timing chains, sprockets, and guides, main and rod bearings, intermediate shaft gear, oil pump, fuel injectors, spark plugs were replaced. The rotary assembly was balanced, the engine case machined and the engine rebuilt with rebuilt cylinder heads, Mahle pistons and a revised timing chain tensioner kit.

Inside, the seats are upholstered in Blueblack vinyl with leather inserts. The same combination covers the door panels and dashboard, while the steering wheel is wrapped in black leather. Additional equipment includes a heater, power windows, fold-down rear seats, and a Grundig stereo with a cassette player. The clock shows 28,778 km (18k miles).

The car has a clean Carfax report that shows no accidents or other damage. It comes with an owner’s manual, a tool roll, a dyno graph, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a Porsche Geburtsurkunde certificate, and a clean Iowa title in the owner’s name.

The auction ends on December 21st and the current highest bid is $130,000 USD.
