Manhart MH5 GTR based on the BMW M5 CS

The German tuner Menhart has once again shown that it is the best when it comes to upgrading BMW cars. Ahead of the arrival of the new generation BMW 5 Series, Manhart took the opportunity to present the MH5 GTR based on the current BMW M5 CS (Competition Sport) model.

The MH5 GTR is finished in dark green with a gray decal set on both sides of the car as well as the entire length of the body. It is equipped with carbon front and rear spoilers, MANHART stainless steel exhaust system with valve control, four 100 mm tailpipes, MANHART Variant 4 coilover suspension by KW Suspensions, and Race tailpipes without catalytic converters, OPF Delete replacement pipes with 200-cell HJS catalytic converters and a MANHART OPF/GPF Deleter available on request. It sits on 21-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 265/30 ZR21 (front) and 305/25 ZR21 (rear) Michelin tires.

Inside, the original interior decorated with the Manhart inscription has been retained. The carbon fiber sports seats are covered in black and red leather while the steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara. Black leather also covers the door panels and dashboard. In the central part of the dashboard there is a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen.

When it comes to the powertrain, the MH5 GTR is powered by a 4.4-liter biturbo V8 engine with 788 hp (589 kW) and 690 lb-ft (935 Nm) of torque. A significant increase in power was achieved by installing a carbon air intake and the proven MHtronik auxiliary control unit. For the record, the standard M5 CS has 635 hp (467 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque.

The performance of the MH5 GTR has not been released, but it is known that the M5 CS reaches 62 mph in 3.0 seconds with a top speed of 189 mph (305 km/h).

The question was always asked who is faster, a car or a motorcycle? The guys from the YouTube channel Carwow have given an answer at least when it comes to the same manufacturer. They compared the sports sedan BMW M5 CS and the motorcycle BMW M 1000 RR in a drag race.

The BMW M 1000 RR is powered by a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine with 212hp (156 kW) @ 13,000 rpm and 83 lb-ft (113 Nm) of torque @ 11,000 rpm. The motorcycle is homologated for the road and reaches a top speed of 190 mph (306 kph). In the UK, the 50 Years M 1000 RR costs around £35,000.

The BMW M5 CS is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 635 hp (467 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via an eight-speed transmission with launch control. With a weight of 1,825 kg (less than the standard M5), it reaches 62 mph in 3.0 seconds and 124 mph in 10.3 seconds, with a maximum speed of 189 mph (304 kph). In Great Britain, the BMW M5 CS costs around £141,000.

Back to the race. In the standard 1/4 mile, the M 1000 RR set a time of 10.3 seconds while the BMW M5 CS covered the same distance in 11 seconds. At 1/2 mile at 50 mph, both vehicles in third gear, the motorcycle was far faster. Then they repeated the race but this time the motorcycle started from fourth gear. Again the bike was elusive for the BMW M5 CS. The same thing happened when the motorcycle started from fifth and sixth gear.

In braking at a speed of 100 mph, the M5 CS achieved, as expected, a better result. Massive brakes, massive tires did their job.

G5M CS Hurricane RR based on the BMW M5 CS

The German tuner G-Power is specialized for BMW models, and its latest work is the pride of the Bavarian company, the BMW M5 CS. It is the most powerful high-performance sports sedan and G-Powers response to Brabus’ most powerful AMG E-Class, the G5M CS Hurricane RR.

The standard BMW M5 CS is powered by a 4.4l biturbo V8 engine with 626 hp (467 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. Thanks to the Hurricane package that brings CNC-milled turbine and compressor housings, larger compressor and turbine wheels, and tweaked turbo blades, the G5M CS now has 900 hp (662 kW) and 774 lb-ft (1,050 Nm) of torque. Also, there are plenty of carbon body elements, a GP-900 software upgrade and a set of 21-inch alloy wheels. If you’re wondering how much it costs, it’s not cheap at all, as the most powerful Hurricane package costs €119,000 (including VAT).

G-Power did not reveal the performance of the car, but it is known that it can reach a top speed of 211 mph (340 km/h). However, if we consider that the standard M5 CS reaches 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, it is sure that the G5M CS will be a super fast car. Power is transmitted to all wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

For those who want less power in their cars, G-Power offers the M5 CS with 700, 750, 800 or 850 HP.
