1970 Porsche 911S Targa is up for auction

At the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche presented for the first time a two-door high performance sports car, the successor to the 356 model, the Porsche 911. In 1966, a more powerful version of this model, the Porsche 911S, arrived on the market. One of them, a 1970 Porsche 911S Targa is up for auction.

This car is finished in red, has been well maintained and has recently undergone a minor repair where a few parts were replaced, and is in good condition. It is equipped with a removable black roof panel, a stainless targa bar, yellow-tinted fog lights, and a single exhaust outlet.

Inside, the seats are trimmed in black leather, which also covers the dashboard and door panels. In front of the driver is a four-spoke steering wheel and a five-digit mechanical odometer showing 76,439 miles. Additional equipment includes a heater, vent windows, a Becker Europa AM/FM stereo, a locking glove compartment, and woven floor mats.

The Porsche 911S Targa is powered by a 2.2L flat-six engine with 180 hp (133 kW) and 147 lb-ft (199 Nm) of torque. It reaches 60 mph in 6.4 seconds with a top speed of 139 mph (224 km/h). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. It is mounted on Fuchs 15″ wheels wrapped in 195/65 Continental ContiProContact tires.

The auction ends on February 23rd and the current highest bid is $75,000 USD.

2018 Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster sold for $101,000 USD

After the SLS AMG model, at the 2014 Paris Motor Show Mercedes-AMG presented its new sports car, the Mercedes-AMG GT. It is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by this company. In 2017, the roadster version of this model, the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster, arrived on the market, with the active air management system found on the GT R variant to help with cooling and airflow performance. It was produced until 2021, and one example, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster, recently sold for $101,000 USD.

Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine with 469 hp (350 kW) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an electronically-controlled limited-slip differential. It reaches 62 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 188 mph (302 km/h). It is mounted on 19 and 20 inch forged AMG wheels wrapped in 265/35 (front) and 295/30 (rear) Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

This car is finished in black, has been properly maintained and is in good condition. It is equipped with a power-operated black soft top, LED headlights with Adaptive High-beam Assist, Parktronic sensors, a deployable rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets exiting through the rear valance, sports suspension and AMG-branded calipers over cross-drilled and slotted rotors. In 2021, a Mercedes-Benz A-service was performed and the software of the control unit was updated.

Inside, the sports seats are covered in black leather with Red Pepper inserts. Black leather also covers the dashboard, door panels and central console, as well as the AMG Performance steering wheel. Additional equipment includes Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control, a Burmester audio system, a reverse camera, COMAND infotainment, Keyless Go, automatic climate control, and the Lane Tracking Package. The clock reads 2,959 miles.

The car has a clean Carfax report that shows no accidents or other damage. It comes with a window sticker, service records and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
