In 2017, Hennessey unveiled its ultra-sports model Venom F5. This Texas based company recently delivered the first unit, a $ 2.1 million model, to a customer.
From Hennessey, which is widely known for its tuning projects based on American muscle cars, they claim that the ultra-sports two-seater Venom F5 is the most powerful car in the world that will be able to develop a speed of 311 mph (500 kph).
The Venom F5 is powered by a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 1,817 hp (1,355 kW) and 1,193 lb-ft (1,617 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7-speed single-clutch automated manual transmission. Although it weighs 3,053 lb (1,385 kg), it reaches 62 mph in 2.6 seconds, 124 mph (200 kph) in 4.7 seconds, 186 mph (300 kph) in 8.4 seconds and 248 mph (400 kph) in 15.5 seconds. The F5 should be Hennessey’s response to competitors Bugatti, Koenigsegg, SSC, etc.
The Venom F5 will be produced in limited numbers, and all 24 units have already been sold. The first unit was delivered to an unnamed customer who had previously accepted a contract under which the car could not travel more than 2,500 miles (4,023 kilometers) per year. The remaining units will be delivered by 2024.
