2023 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe

The second generation Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe is currently in the testing phase. The new photos show a test model on the Nürburgring Nordschleife that was brought in a truck in order to hide the design of the new model as much as possible.

The car is covered with camouflage, so it is difficult to see the exact details. It is assumed that the design will be reminiscent of the SL Roadster, which Mercedes revived under AMG in late 2021, but with some revolutionary design details. Anyway, it is certain that each model will have its own audience that will enjoy the driving experience, claims Mercedes.

When it comes to the drivetrain, there is no accurate information. The entry GT 53 should be powered by a 4.0L biturbo V8 engine with 470 hp (350 kW) and 512 lb-ft (694 Nm) of torque, like the Mercedes-AMG SL, which is enough to accelerate to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 183 mph (295 km / h). The more powerful version of the GT 63 should have 577 hp (430 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, which is enough to reach 62 mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph (315 km / h).

Recently, spy photos from the snowy roads of the north were published where the capabilities of the new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe were tested.

Mercedes will improve the W13 for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

At the Bahrain Grand Prix, Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell took third and fourth place, which is not a bad result. However, at the very end of the race it was clear that the W13 car is not competitive with the biggest rivals, and that certain changes will be necessary.

After the race in Bahrain, the head of the Mercedes engineering team Andrew Shovlin said that Mercedes was not satisfied with the results achieved and that they would make certain changes to the car by the next race.

“We had a conversation with the drivers and there are a lot of problems. The balance is desperate, the car is heavy, and because of all that we are struggling in the right direction. We will do everything in our power to fix things for the next race in the hope that Hamilton and Russell will be more competitive, “Shovlin said.

Luckily for Mercedes, problems were noticed in the first race, so they can hope for a better result in the next one. The next race, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, will take place on Sunday, March 27th.
