1954 Porsche 356 Speedster is for sale

In 1954, Porsche introduced one of its most desirable collector models, the Porsche 356 Speedster. It was produced until 1958, and when it appeared it was an instant hit on the American market. 3,676 examples were produced and one of them, the 1954 Porsche 356 Speedster, is for sale.

This car is finished in Oslo Blue (the original color was White), and is in good condition. It is equipped with sealed-beam headlights with stone guards, gold badging, a Talbot driver-side mirror, quadruple beehive taillights, a single engine lid vent, body-color bumpers with polished overriders, and a Reutter badge riveted to the right-front fender, black soft roof and Koni shock absorbers.

Inside, the seats are upholstered in red leather with Mercedes-Benz-sourced blue plaid cloth inserts. Red leather covers the dashboard and door panels. There are also black and red Coco Mats, a gold dash badge, an adjustable rearview mirror, and a passenger grab handle.

The 356 Speedster is powered by a 1.5-liter flat-four engine paired with a four-speed manual that sends power to the rear wheels. The clock reads 27,413 miles, but it can’t be said for sure that’s the actual number since the odometer shows the same mileage as in 2021. It is mounted on 14″ Fuchs wheels wrapped in 185/65 Firestone All-Season tires.

The car comes with tools, a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, and a clean Florida title in the owner’s name listing the vehicle as a 1954 model year.

The auction ends on March 2nd and the current highest bid is $225,000 USD.

1970 Porsche 911S Targa is up for auction

At the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche presented for the first time a two-door high performance sports car, the successor to the 356 model, the Porsche 911. In 1966, a more powerful version of this model, the Porsche 911S, arrived on the market. One of them, a 1970 Porsche 911S Targa is up for auction.

This car is finished in red, has been well maintained and has recently undergone a minor repair where a few parts were replaced, and is in good condition. It is equipped with a removable black roof panel, a stainless targa bar, yellow-tinted fog lights, and a single exhaust outlet.

Inside, the seats are trimmed in black leather, which also covers the dashboard and door panels. In front of the driver is a four-spoke steering wheel and a five-digit mechanical odometer showing 76,439 miles. Additional equipment includes a heater, vent windows, a Becker Europa AM/FM stereo, a locking glove compartment, and woven floor mats.

The Porsche 911S Targa is powered by a 2.2L flat-six engine with 180 hp (133 kW) and 147 lb-ft (199 Nm) of torque. It reaches 60 mph in 6.4 seconds with a top speed of 139 mph (224 km/h). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. It is mounted on Fuchs 15″ wheels wrapped in 195/65 Continental ContiProContact tires.

The auction ends on February 23rd and the current highest bid is $75,000 USD.

Porsche Vision 357

75 years ago, the Austrian company Porsche Konstruktionen GesmbH unveiled the Porsche 356 sports car, and since 1950, the German Porsche has taken over production. The car was produced until 1965, and in its honor, the German car manufacturer presented the Porsche Vision 357.

“The concept is an attempt to combine past, present and future with coherence,” said Michael Mauer, vice president of Style Porsche. Concept 357 has kept the size of the original, but with details that point to the future.

The original Porsche 356 has a split windshield, which is not the case with the concept, but Porsche opted to wrap the glass around the black A-pillars to unite the three window elements into one, creating the appearance of a helmet visor. The door handles are hidden in the rear side glass. The cameras replace the traditional side mirrors, and the front and rear lights are located behind the perforations in the body panels. The third brake light is in the rear fascia, also reminiscent of the original 356. The car sits on a set of 20-inch magnesium wheels.

The car is finished in Ice metallic gray, while Grivola metallic gray highlights the front bumper. Large number 75 decals adorn the doors and hood, while subtle 357 decals are on the front fenders and rear fascia. Porsche even branded the intakes on the rear side windows with “Air” decals and arrows pointing to the intakes. There are also two titanium tailpipe finishes, which have a bluish finish.

When it comes to the powertrain, the Porsche 357 is powered by a 4.0L 6-cylinder engine with 493 hp (363 kW) and 331 lb-ft (449 Nm) of torque. The same engine powers the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. It reaches 62 mph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph (316 km / h). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed double-clutch automatic transmission (PDK).
