As we announced earlier, Porsche is intensively testing the new 911 Safari model. After testing at the Nürburgring, the car passes the final winter test, but now with less camouflage.
Spy photos show that the car has a slightly higher suspension than the Carrera 4 GTS on which it is based. The new front bumper, revised air intakes and fixed rear wing are just some of the novelties that the 911 Safari has. At the rear there are round exhaust pipes and a one-piece light bar under the rear wing. What the interior will look like is not known.
It is already known that the Porsche 911 Safari is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged boxer 6 engine with 473 hp (348 kW) and 420 lb-ft (570 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed dual-clutch PDK. It is mounted on 20-inch aluminum rims wrapped in Pirelli tires.
There are still many questions about the specifications of the Porsche 911 Safari. It is unknown at this time when it will be introduced or when mass production could begin, as well as how much it will cost.
