Why the Ram 1500 Is Leaning Into Affordability Again

Sticker shock has officially gone mainstream. With the average transaction price of a new vehicle ballooning to $49,814 in November, even traditionally loyal truck buyers are blinking twice before signing on the dotted line. Ford recently summed it up best: “price fatigue” is real. And in 2025, that fatigue is reshaping what Americans want parked in their driveways.

Ram appears to be paying attention.

Tim Kuniskis, Ram’s CEO, has made it clear that the real battleground isn’t at the luxury end of the truck market—it’s below $50,000. That’s where volume lives, and that’s where buyers are rediscovering the appeal of simpler, entry-level trims that don’t feel like punishment.

On paper, the 2026 Ram 1500 already makes a compelling case. Starting at $41,575, it undercuts many rivals while still delivering the size, power, and refinement expected from a modern full-size pickup. But competition in the budget-friendly truck space is brutal, and Ram isn’t exactly winning the price war outright. Ford and General Motors still own the sub-$50K conversation, with GM in particular dominating the segment. For Stellantis’ truck brand, that gap represents opportunity—and urgency.

Enter the Ram 1500 Express.

Introduced earlier this year, the Express starts at $43,700 and smartly avoids the bargain-bin aesthetic that often plagues cheaper trims. Body-color bumpers, 20-inch wheels, and a gloss-black grille surround give it curb appeal, while the cabin benefits from upgraded interior accents that feel deliberate rather than deleted. Even better, Ram didn’t strip away the tech: adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking are standard, proving that affordability no longer has to mean analog living.

For buyers with dirtier intentions, Ram already laid some groundwork with last year’s 1500 Warlock. Starting at $52,415, it’s not exactly cheap, but it is purpose-built. Think rugged suspension, Bilstein dampers, and a one-inch lift, backed up by skid plates, an electronic locking rear differential, and powder-coated bumpers that beg to be scraped. Four-wheel drive, tow hooks, and all-terrain tires complete the look—and the mission.

Still, the Express and Warlock feel like opening moves rather than endgame strategies.

Ram has publicly committed to more than 25 product announcements over an 18-month stretch, and while several have already landed, plenty remain under wraps. Among them is a high-performance variant set to debut on New Year’s Day, a reminder that Ram hasn’t abandoned speed and spectacle even as it courts more cost-conscious buyers.

The takeaway? Ram knows where the market is headed. As prices climb and patience wears thin, the brand is rediscovering the value of value. If more affordable Ram 1500 trims are indeed on the way, don’t be surprised—just relieved.

Ram Roars Back with Bold Patriotic Campaign and HEMI V8 Revival

Ram Trucks is tapping into America’s patriotic pulse with a thunderous new marketing push and a tagline designed to stick: “Nothing Stops Ram.” The brand’s fresh identity debuted last week with the bombastic launch of its new campaign, “Never Stop Being American,” coinciding with the highly anticipated return of the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V8 to the 2026 Ram 1500 lineup.

The 60-second ad, which premiered to significant fanfare, features a red-white-and-blue spectacle complete with a reimagined version of The Star-Spangled Banner by blues rocker Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The spot opens with archival Apollo space program footage and crescendos into high-octane scenes of American adventure — from dirt bike riding and bull wrangling to a cheeky glimpse of George Washington behind the wheel of a Ram. Narrated by UFC president Dana White, the commercial builds to a climactic message:
“Never, ever, ever stop being American. Nothing stops America, and nothing stops Ram.”

The new slogan replaces the former “Built to Serve” motto, and signals a more assertive tone in Ram’s branding. Critics may call the ad overly theatrical, but Stellantis Global CMO Olivier Francois sees a grander purpose.

“This campaign is an ode to America — its people, its culture, and time-honored traditions,” said Francois. “We’re entering an epic year for the brand. With the HEMI V8’s comeback, Ram’s return to NASCAR, and the road to America’s 250th birthday, Ram will be front and center in the celebration as the exclusive truck partner.”

The Return of a Legend: 5.7L HEMI V8

Ram’s latest move isn’t just about flag-waving sentiment — it’s also about giving gearheads what they’ve been missing. The revered 5.7-liter HEMI V8, producing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, will be available across a broad swath of trims including the Big Horn, Express, Laramie, Limited, Longhorn, Rebel, Tradesman, and Warlock.

Starting this summer, buyers can opt for the returning V8 at a $1,200 premium over standard configurations. It will join the base Pentastar V6 and the punchy Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six, which is offered in 420-hp and 550-hp variants.

A Patriotic Power Play

With a blend of nostalgia, muscle, and unapologetic American flair, Ram’s new strategy is a calculated bet on heritage and heart. While some may question whether the campaign’s tone borders on cliché, it’s undeniably geared to connect with Ram’s core audience — truck buyers who value toughness, tradition, and torque.

Whether this high-octane approach will resonate beyond Ram loyalists remains to be seen. But one thing’s certain: with V8s roaring and star-spangled banners flying, Ram isn’t just back — it’s making a statement.

Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Coming to Europe in Q3 2025

At this year’s CES, Ram introduced its first all-electric version of the 1500 pickup, the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV. It is a concept that should arrive on the United States market in early 2025, and on the European market in Q3 2025.

The car is based on the advanced STLA Frame architecture, an evolution of the Ram 1500 platform specifically designed for electric vehicles with separate chassis. It’s equipped with 24-inch wheels with illuminated RAM trim covers, but the wide fenders also provide enough room for 35-inch off-road tires.

Although the company did not publish all the details, what we know for now is that the new electric pickup will be equipped with a 168 kWh battery that will enable a range of up to 563 kilometers, an 800-volt DC system that enables fast charging with a power of up to 350 kW. A 10-minute charge will provide 160 kilometers of range. It will have a towing capacity of up to 6.3 tons and a payload of up to 1.2 tons.

Inside, the Revolution Concept can be customized for an additional four inches of legroom without changing the chassis size compared to current production models. Additional work space or even more seating can be provided thanks to the modular “Ram Track” system, whereby seats and consoles can be easily moved to the floor. A special atmosphere in the cabin is provided by the electrochromatic glass roof, which can be adjusted to let in as much light as you want.

When it comes to the powertrain, it will be powered by two electric motors with a total output of 654 hp (481 kW) and 840 lb-ft (1,139 Nm), which is enough for the vehicle to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds.

The price of the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV is unknown.
