Range Rover Sport upgraded by Urban Automotive

In 2022, Range Rover introduced the third generation of its mid-size luxury SUV, the Range Rover Sport. With its appearance, this car attracts the attention of many, and now the British company Urban Automotive has prepared two upgrade kits (Widetrack and Narrowbody) that raise the SUV to a higher level.

The Widetrack pays tribute to the Range Rover Sport model that was modified by the tuner in 2018, and is finished in a special shade of Estoril Blue, which is no longer offered from the factory. This equipment kit includes carbon components such as a front bumper, components that change the appearance of the front fascia, a three-part splitter, a new hood, wheel arch extensions, side mirror housings, a new rear bumper, a rear diffuser, aluminum tailpipes and a rear spoiler. There is also a set of UV-1R Vossen rims in gold.

The narrowbody equipment kit does not include wheel arch extensions, but instead brings a new front and rear bumper, carbon side skirts and an upper rear spoiler made of carbon fiber.

It should also be noted that both packages can be combined with 23- and 24-inch rims, and Urban Automotive also offers an optional high-performance Milltek Sport exhaust system. There were no changes under the bonnet.

First all-electric Range Rover

In 1970 British Leyland launched the first generation of 4×4 luxury SUV, the Range Rover. Since then, 54 years have passed, and five generations of this model have been produced, and now the time has come for the British company to present its first all-electric Range Rover.

After testing in desert conditions, the car is currently on the snowy roads of the north, where it faces temperatures of minus 40º Celsius in the Arctic zone. In the same conditions, new traction and braking control systems were tested, and the British car company announced that the electric Range Rover will be built on the MLA platform and based on an 800-volt system.

This model should be the British manufacturer’s response to the all-electric Mercedes G-Class revealed at the beginning of the year. At first glance, without camouflage, the electric SUV shares the same design with models powered by internal combustion engines.

When it comes to the powertrain, there are no details yet, but rumors say that an unknown number of electric motors will deliver around 500 hp (373 kW). This means that the SUV will not be far behind the current Range Rover in terms of power. As a reminder, the Range Rover is powered by a 4.4-liter biturbo V8 engine with 530 hp (395 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque.

The date and place of the official debut of the first all-electric Range Rover is currently unknown.

Queen Elizabeth’s Range Rover is up for auction

In 1926, the longest reign of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female head of state in history, Her Majesty Elizabeth II, was born. She ruled Britain for 70 years, until she passed away in 2022. During her lifetime, she was loved and respected among the people, and everything related to her and the royal family is considered collectible. Soon, Queen Elizabeth’s 2004 Range Rover will be auctioned.

This vehicle was designed by Special Vehicle Operations for Queen Elizabeth II, and differs from the standard model in several features. It is finished in Epsom Green over Sand Hide. It is equipped with handles and a step which make it easy to get in and out of the car, and the rear doors have two window switches so that the rear seat passenger can control both from one place. The seats are covered with protection and the luggage compartment is adapted for dogs and is separated from the rest of the cabin by the mandatory dog guard.

The Range Rover is powered by a 4.4-liter engine with 282 hp (207 kW), and has just under 180,000 kilometers (109,675 miles) on the odometer.

The auction will take place on 7 November and the guided price is £50,000 – £60,000.
