A unique collection of RUF cars is up for auction

Modified cars often fetch high prices, especially those done by one of the best tuning companies for Porsche cars, Ruf Automobile. A unique collection of Porsche cars made by this company will be sold at auction. It is a collection of four cars, BTR2, Turbo R, Turbo R Cabriolet and RK Coupe, and the auction will take place on March 2 & 3, 2023.

1997 RUF BTR2

The 1997 RUF BTR2 is the successor to the 1983 BTR model, which has a number of modifications compared to the standard Porsche 911 on which it is based. It was produced between 1994 and 1997, and only 10 examples left the workshop of the German tuner. The car is equipped with a number of modifications such as a distinctive front bumper and splitter, a large rear spoiler and black glossy five-spoke headlights. It is powered by a 3.6L turbo engine with 414 hp (309 kW) and 435 lb-ft (590 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. It reaches 62 mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 198 mph (319 km/h).

1998 RUF Turbo R was produced in 15 examples, each with a different appearance. The Turbo R Coupe is powered by a 3.6L twin-turbo flat-six engine with 490 hp (365 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. It reaches 60 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 192 mph (310 km/h). This car is special because it was returned to RUF’s workshop a few years ago, where it received a number of components just like the 2016 Turbo R Limited Series. The clock shows 22,208 km.

The 1998 RUF Turbo R Cabriolet is powered by a 3.6L twin-turbocharged flat-six engine with 490 hp (365 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. It reaches 62 mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 192 mph (310 km/h). Only one example of this car was produced, finished in Blutorange. The clock shows 16,452 km.

The 2007 RUF RK Coupe is based on the Porsche Cayman, and represents a combination of Italian style and German technology. It is powered by a 3.8L flat-six engine with 440 hp (324 kW) and 347 lb-ft (470 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. It reaches 62 mph in 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 190 mph (304 km/h). RUF intended to produce 49 examples of this car, but produced only two. One is actually a prototype kept in a museum in Italy.
