Tesla started delivering the Cybertruck

On November 30, Tesla officially started delivering the Cybertruck. It is a long-awaited car whose story began in 2019, and in July of this year, the media announced that the company had informed suppliers that the delivery of the vehicle would start by the end of the year.

The Cybertruck will be offered in three powertrain versions. The most powerful is the Cyberbeast, which will be powered by three electric motors with a total power of 845 hp (630 kW) and 10,296 lb-ft (13,960 Nm) of torque. It will reach 60 mph in 2.6 seconds with a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).

The entry-level version will be powered by a single engine and will have rear-wheel drive. It will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 9.6 seconds, and will have a range of 402 kilometers. This model will hit the market in 2025 and will cost $60,990.

The third version will have all-wheel drive, 600 hp (447 kW) and 13,667 lb-ft (10,080 Nm) of torque. It will reach 60 mph (100 km/h) in 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph). The Cybertruck can tow 11,000 lbs (just under five tons) and have a payload capacity of about 1,134 kg of cargo, and will have a range of 340 miles (547 kilometers).

Tesla is one of the few companies in the world that has its own production of all components for its vehicles. In the financial report for the third quarter of 2023, it was announced that the annual production capacity is 125,000 units of Cybertruck per year. The company could use a significant portion of the plant’s production capacity, and time will tell if the production volume will increase.

Tesla Cybertruck deliveries begin on November 30

It’s been four years since Tesla’s Cybertruck story began, and recently the first produced example of this vehicle was sold at auction. The company has so far received over 2 million reservations, and now it is officially known when the first copies will reach their owners.

In July, American media reported that they heard a little earlier that Tesla had already informed suppliers to be ready for the start of production of the Cybertruck at the end of August, while delivery would begin by the end of the year. That will be November 30.

Of course, we have to wait for the prices and specifications of the Tesla Cybertruck as these details are not yet available.

Also, a photo of three Cybertrucks loaded onto a Tesla Semi electric truck was published, so it can be guessed that deliveries will be made with these trucks.

Cybertruck will be powered by three electric motors with a total output of 805 hp (600 kW) and 1,033 lb-ft (1,400 Nm), which is enough to push the car to 62 mph in just 3 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h). It has a range of up to 500 miles.

Tesla Cybertruck sold for $400,000 USD

In 2019, Tesla presented its first and so far only electric full-size pickup truck, the Cybertruck. Tesla announced that it has received two million orders, and interestingly, not a single copy has been delivered to the customer, at least not yet. However, one copy of the Tesla Cybertruck was recently sold at auction.

The Cybertruck was sold at the Petersen Museum auction for $400,000. Each guest paid $1,750 for a seat, while a table cost $17,500 or $30,000 for a premier table.

In July, American media reported that they heard a little earlier that Tesla had already informed suppliers to be ready for the start of production of the Cybertruck at the end of August, while delivery would begin by the end of the year.

Each potential customer needs to pay a deposit of only 100 dollars, so there is a possibility that a large number of reservations will not be realized. It will be interesting to see if the Cybertruck will be available outside of the North American market (Europe and Asia) where customers can already pre-order the model. Because of its size and weight, selling the Cybertruck in overseas markets could pose a serious challenge. For example, in several European countries it must be classified as a commercial truck or truck.
