Honda Civic Type R new generation

Photos of the camouflaged Honda prototype, which is considered to be the Civic Type R, have appeared recently.

The photos show some details suggesting that the new Civic could have larger openings in the front bumper, a large rear spoiler, centrally placed exhaust tailpipes and larger wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, and red caliper brakes can also be seen.

When it comes to powertrain, the new Type R should be powered by a boosted 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 320 hp (235 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. The engine will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission that will transfer power to the front axle. Rumor has it that the Type R could also get a hybrid version with 400 hp (294 kW) and all-wheel drive.

The car should appear next year, and it should arrive on the American market in the second half of 2022. Given that we have little information about the upcoming model, and thus about the price, it is expected that the new Honda Civic Type R should cost around $ 35,000.
