Tesla Unveils Its First Restaurant, Drive-In Theater, and Supercharger Hub in Hollywood

Tesla’s vision for the future of roadside stops has finally become reality. The EV automaker officially opened its first-ever combination restaurant, drive-in movie theater, and Supercharger station in the heart of Hollywood, drawing long lines of Tesla enthusiasts and curious onlookers for its grand debut.

Described as part diner, part sci-fi daydream, the unique destination blends retro Americana charm with Tesla’s unmistakable futuristic edge. On the ground floor, a fleet of Supercharger stalls await electric vehicles beneath two enormous movie screens, while upstairs, guests can order food with a view of the action below. True to Tesla form, everything—from the food ordering system to the charging integration—has been designed to be sleek, fast, and seamless.

The idea first sparked public interest in 2018, when CEO Elon Musk tweeted:

“I’m going to build an old-school restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in Los Angeles.”

That promise has now materialized. And on Monday, Cybertrucks and Model Ys filled the lot as drivers waited—some without even knowing the exact opening time—just to be among the first to experience the space.

Inside, Tesla fans were treated not only to vintage-style ambiance and movie scenes but also to a futuristic twist: Optimus, Tesla’s humanoid robot prototype, was on duty serving popcorn. “I’m really excited to see Optimus,” one guest said. “They have a popcorn robot. We’ll see what we can get.” Optimus didn’t disappoint, placing popcorn into paper bags and even stopping for photos and friendly waves.

The facility is open 24 hours a day, making it a convenient pit stop for late-night chargers and road-trippers alike. However, not all locals are entirely sold. Hollywood resident Josh Becerra welcomed the idea but raised concerns about increased neighborhood traffic. Still, he appreciated the noise-control measure—sound from the movie screens is transmitted only through Tesla cars’ speakers.

Whether you’re charging your EV, watching a movie, or just grabbing a burger with a robotic flair, Tesla’s Hollywood Supercharger station aims to redefine what it means to take a break on the road. And this might just be the beginning.

According to Tesla, if this pilot location proves successful, similar venues could pop up across the country—possibly transforming the way America eats, charges, and entertains.
