1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe is up for auction

In 1988, Porsche unveiled the evolutionary 911, the Type 964. It was a significant car for Porsche because after the recession it had to rely on something new, apart from the name. In order to demonstrate the commitment to engineering, the Carrera 4 was introduced. However, in 1990, the Carrera 2 was revealed, bringing the Tiptronic automatic transmission for the first time. It was produced until 1993 and one of the first produced, the 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe, is up for auction.

The Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe is powered by an air-cooled 3.6L M64 flat-six engine with 250 hp (184 kW) and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission with an optional limited-slip differential. It is mounted on 17-inch Cup wheels wrapped in 205/50 (front) and 255/40 (rear) Michelin Pilot Sport N3 tires.

This car is finished in Grand Prix White, has been well maintained and is in good condition. It is equipped with a rear spoiler, an electric sunroof, integrated fog lights, optional headlight washers, and heated, power-adjustable mirrors and Öhlins DFV coilover suspension. Between 2018 and 2022, door control strips, climate control panel, cylinder heads, crankshaft, connecting rod, assemblies, bearings, engine mounts, pistons and cylinders, timing chain, ramps and tensioners were replaced.

Inside, the adjustable seats are wrapped in black leather, which also covers the door panels and dashboard. The four-spoke steering wheel is also wrapped in black leather. Additional equipment includes power windows, dual front airbags, cruise control and air conditioning. The clock reads 66,926 miles.

The car has a clean Carfax report that shows no accidents or other damage. It comes with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, recent service records, a car cover and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The auction ends on January 2nd and the current highest bid is $87,000 USD.
