2023 Ford Mk IV

For the end of the year, Ford unveiled the new Mk IV as a reminder of the racing car of the same name from 1967, the last GT focused only on the track. It will be a limited edition of 67 examples, each one of which will be handcrafted at Multimatic’s facility in Markham, Ontario.

The GT Mk IV has a new chassis due to the lengthening of the wheelbase to improve handling. It is equipped with a racing gearbox, Multimatic’s Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) suspension and a redesigned body for better aerodynamics. The headlights are simplified, there are no side mirrors, the body is wider and contains extreme aerodynamic components such as a huge rear wing and a diffuser. There is a carbon ventilation roof hatch, front wings and a huge splitter. The side air intakes seem larger, and the reason is probably the greater need for cooling the more powerful engine.

The new Ford supercar follows the GT LM Edition that was unveiled at the beginning of October as the last road-going version of the supercar. No official details have yet been revealed when it comes to the powertrain, but rumors say it will have a more powerful engine than the GT LM Edition powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 660 hp (485 kW) and 550 lb-ft (746 Nm) of torque. moment. There is also speculation about a unique EcoBoost twin-turbo engine with more than 800 hp (588 kW).

Since the car does not meet road regulations, the engineers had more freedom during development.

Interested buyers must go through an application process and prepare $1.7 million. Ford will choose the lucky “winners” in the first quarter of next year. Deliveries begin in late spring.
