Porsche 912 Restomod

Between 1965 and 1969, Porsche produced one of its sports cars that was an entry-level variant of the 911, the Porsche 912. It was offered in compact 2+2 Coupé and Targa body styles with an air-cooled 4-cylinder engine taken from model 356.

The Hungarian company Kamm Manufaktur will present a restomod of the 912 called the Kamm 912c, which will be available at a price of €325,000. The car has kept its original shape and the steel parts are replaced by carbon fibers, which reduced the weight from the original 968 kilograms to 750 kilograms. It is equipped with an adjustable suspension that includes coilovers with custom tuning, reinforced chassis, Lexan windows, new shock absorbers, Brembo aluminum brakes and a set of new tires.

Inside, the design from the Porsche 912 has been retained with some changes such as carbon seats replacing the original ones and plenty of accessories made of lightweight materials.

The standard Porsche 912 is powered by an air-cooled 1.6-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine with 90 hp (67 kW) and 98 lb-ft (133 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. However, Kamm Manufaktur installed a new 2.0-liter flat-four engine, produced by JPS Aircooled, with 170 hp (127 kW).

Mate Rimac on the ten-year plan for Bugatti

All car companies have announced their long-term plans, or will announce them, about what we can expect in the future when it comes to the current offer as well as new models. In an interview with Automobilwoche, Mate Rimac talked about the ten-year plan for Bugatti.

Bugatti Mistral

The demand for SUV cars is expanding. Many manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Bentley and Rolls Royce have joined Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and other car manufacturers that have had SUVs in their range for many years. Some have resisted it for a long time, like McLaren and Ferrari, but they too will soon introduce their SUVs. One of the few brands that still successfully resists this trend is Bugatti.

In the interview, Rimac said that Bugatti will not produce an SUV in the near future, but that they will not produce a fully electric Bugatti either. At least not in the next ten years. “A purely electric version is not included in our 10-year plan for Bugatti. There will also be no SUV,” said Mate Rimac. This does not mean that Bugatti is completely rejecting electrification, as it aims to produce a car with an electric range of 31 miles (50 km).

Bugatti Mistral

Bugatti recently unveiled its new model, the Bugatti Mistral, the last to be powered by the W16 petrol engine. It is a limited edition based on the Chiron. It costs 5 million euros, and all 99 cars have already been sold.

The new iPhone 14 comes with the Crash Detection option

A few days ago, Apple presented the new iPhone 14 and Apple Watch, which come with several new options such as Crash Detection, which enables emergency calls in case of traffic accidents, and the “Emergency SOS” option.

How does it work? According to Apple, the option uses three functions of the device, a barometer that detects changes in cabin pressure, GPS that monitors changes in speed and a microphone that registers sounds typical of a traffic accident. There is also a gyroscope and an accelerometer (measuring up to 256G) on the Apple Watch, which help assess the situation. 10 seconds after detecting a traffic accident, the phone will automatically start calling emergency contacts and emergency services. If the user has both devices, the watch will first display a message, and then the phone will call emergency services.

The second option, Emergency SOS, allows the user to send a message via satellite when there is no mobile network signal. Both options are available on all iPhone 14 models as well as Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Ultra.

When it comes to prices, iPhone 14 starts at $799, iPhone 14 Plus $899, iPhone 14 Pro $999, iPhone Pro Max $1,099, while iPhone SE costs $429.
