Nissan Z GT500

Cars from the Japanese Super GT series attract special attention. So Nissan has decided to introduce its new racing model, the Z GT500, next year.

“We are entering the 2022 Super GT series with our all-new Nissan Z GT500 car and our huge passion for motorsports. We hope that our fans will continue to passionately support the Nissan and NISMO motorsport teams, ”said NISMO President and CEO Takao Katagiri.

Back in the 70s Nissan was achieving outstanding results with the S30 240Z racing model, and now it is trying to continue with the new model which does not share much with the road version. It is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with 650 hp (478 kW).

“The Nissan Z GT500 symbolizes Nissan’s spirit of taking on challenges and bringing excitement to life. Through our racing efforts we continue to innovate our cars and we race to win with the same daring we have displayed so many times over the years, ”said Nissan COO Ashwani Gupta.

Whether the Nissan Z GT500 will be a good rival to the Toyota Supra and Honda NSX remains to be seen.

As we recently announced, Porsche is intensively testing the new 911 Safari model. This time CarSpyMedia has released a video from the Nürburgring which shows a prototype of a legal-road rally model with off-road capabilities.

The video shows that the suspension is slightly higher than the Carrera 4S on which it is based. It is the same car whose spy photos were recently published.

Although there is no confirmation yet, the Porsche 911 Safari should be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged boxer 6 engine with 443 hp (326 kW) and 390 lb-ft (529 Nm) of torque. Power will be transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed dual-clutch PDK.
