2022 Maserati Grecale world premiere

Maserati has unveiled its second crossover that will find its place below the Levante model. It is a Maserati Grecale that was supposed to be unveiled last year but for well-known reasons caused by a lack of microchips the premiere has been postponed to March 22nd.

The company has high expectations from the new Grecale, and previously published teasers have shown the design of the car. The aggressive sporty look is adorned with a standard front grille with the Maserati logo, larger air intakes, headlights reminiscent of a Ford Puma, while the shape of the rear with four exhaust pipes is reminiscent of a larger Levante SUV. There is more chrome at the back, including a Maserati badge and a strip between the two brake lights.

Inside, the seats are upholstered in black leather with light green stitching. There are also four screens, and in addition to the digital cluster in front of the driver and the two screens on the center console, the watch is also a screen. The cluster and upper touch screen are 12.3-inch panels, while the lower one is actually an 8.8-inch panel that has replaced the functions of a number of buttons. Optionally, it will be possible to get a HUD display.

Maserati is not ready to give up the internal combustion engine. That’s why there are three petrol engines on offer: two 2.0 L four-cylinder mid-hybrids with 300 hp and 330 hp, which is 50 hp more than the competitor Alfa Romeo Stelvio Veloce, 30 hp less than the BMW X4 M40i and 50 hp less than the Porsche Macan S.

The Maserati Grecale is powered by a 3.0 L twin-turbo V6 engine, and the most powerful version, the Trofeo, has 530hp (390 kW) and 457 lb-ft (620 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. According to Maserati, it reaches 60 in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 177 mph (285 km / h). It is mounted on 19-inch wheels, and 20- and 21-inch sets are available at an additional cost.

Maserati also introduced an electric version of Grecale called Folgore. The company did not reveal the range of the vehicle, but said it would be equipped with a 105 kWh battery. That should be enough for 350 miles on a full charge, which is 30 miles more than the Tesla Model Y Performance.

When it comes to the powertrain, Maserati has not revealed power and acceleration, but they say it will have 800 Nm of torque, which is 100 Nm more than the Tesla Model Y Performance.

2022 Land Rover Defender Rally Special

After introducing a limited edition Defender V8 Bond Edition last year, inspired by the model from the movie “No Time to Die”, Land Rover has now paid tribute to the film about the famous British secret agent 007. It is the Defender Rally Special which celebrates 60 years since the first James Bond film, “Dr. No.”

The car is inspired by the Defender 90 model that British rally driver Mark Higgins will drive in this year’s rally-raid championship. Defender Rally Special is painted black with the number “60” on the door and roof. Adapted for rally-raid championship, the car is equipped with improved suspension, improved engine and transmission cooling, a new exhaust system, a safety cage, and is mounted on reinforced 18-inch wheels wrapped in 255 / 70VR18 tires.

The Defender Rally Special is powered by a 2.0-liter Inline-4 turbo gasoline engine with 300 hp (221 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The first Tesla production plant in Europe

Yesterday, Elon Musk showed a $ 5 billion investment. It is the first Tesla plant on the old continent (Europe), with which Tesla wants to reduce the pressure on plants in Asia and the United States.

“This is a big day for the factory and it is another step towards a sustainable future,” Musk said.

This event was supposed to happen eight months ago, but the opening was delayed due to problems with the issuance of licenses by local authorities. This is an important investment in the German automotive industry, the largest in recent history, but also a good indicator of a bright future.

At full capacity, the factory should produce 500,000 cars a year, significantly more than Volkswagen, which sold 450,000 electric vehicles worldwide last year.

However, the world media mostly write about what the founder of Tesla did at the opening. Musk was seen dancing as he announced the delivery of Tesla’s first German-made cars.

This event did not pass without protest either. Near the factory, environmental organizations have expressed a number of concerns from the amount of water used in production to the number of trees cut down to build it.
