Tesla warns owners not to use wet towels while charging

Tesla has advised owners not to use unproven tricks that may supposedly help them, one of which is placing a wet towel on the handle of the Supercharger charger with the intention of cooling it down.

One Model S owner claims the car was charging at 60kW, and when he wrapped a wet towel around the charger’s handle, the charging speed increased to 95kW. Also, some people said that the charging speed dropped from 147 to 58 kW, and after putting a wet towel on it, it increased to 119 kW.

“Putting a wet cloth on the handle of the Supercharger charger does not increase charging speed, it interferes with temperature monitoring and causes the risk of overheating and damage. Please do not do this so that our systems can function properly and detect the real charging problem,” it was announced from Tesla.

2025 Lamborghini Temerario Coming Soon

As previously announced, Lamborghini will unveil its new car, the Lamborghini Temerario, on August 16 at Monterey Car Week. It is the successor to the Huracan, which will be powered by a V8 instead of a V10 engine.

The car is still covered in camouflage, and what can be seen in the spy photos is a sharper design of the front fascia, thin headlights and hexagonal daytime running lights, a more aggressive intake, and a centrally mounted exhaust system. Also, the interior of the car is similar to the Rivuelto model, which suggests that it could be equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch infotainment system and a 9.1-inch screen for the passenger.

The Lamborghini Temerario will be powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with 800 hp (596 kW) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque combined with three electric motors, totaling over 900 hp (671 kW). The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

We will have more information after the premiere on August 16, 2024.
