2025 Mazda EZ-6 coming to European market

At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, Mazda unveiled the electric successor to the Mazda 6, the Mazda EZ-6. It is an EV sedan that will be offered on the European market as a competitor to the BMW i4 and Tesla’s Model 3.

During the presentation, there was no word that the EZ-6 would be offered outside the Chinese market. However, Mazda recently entered into an agreement with Changan Mazda as the exclusive Chinese base for new energy research and development as well as production for the global market. This means that the EZ-6 will become Mazda’s first global new energy car. Also, there was a confirmation that the car will be sold in the Chinese and European markets from the fall of this year.

The Mazda EZ-6 is 4,921 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm, making it a direct rival to models such as the Tesla Model 3, Polestar 2 and BMW i4, currently the most popular electric cars on the market. The EZ-6 is based on Changan’s modular EPA platform, which supports Level 4 autonomous driving. However, initially the EZ-6 will be limited to level 2 plus, which requires constant human supervision.

It was designed with a focus on the “jinba ittai” philosophy, which means that “the car and the driver are one.” It is equipped with a multilink suspension and a self-raising rear spoiler that ensures stability at high speeds, and has a weight distribution of 50:59. Inside, attention is drawn to the 14.6″ infotainment touchscreen, while the steering wheel features physical and haptic controls.

The car will be powered by a single electric motor with 221 hp (164 kW), and will have a range of 600 km. An extended-range version will also be available, with a range of around 1,200 km.

2025 Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years

Half a century has passed since Porsche launched its first Turbo model on the market, and on this occasion the German manufacturer decided to launch a special limited edition, the 911 Turbo 50 Years. Only 1974 cars will be produced, which symbolizes the year when the Turbo model was first introduced to the public.

Its distinctive features, especially with the optional Heritage Design package, make it a highly desirable collector’s car among Porsche enthusiasts. The new Turbonite shade, which is exclusive to Porsche’s Turbo models, makes its debut on the 911 after appearing in palettes for the Taycan, Panamera, Macan and Cayenne models. This color is used on the rims, tailgate, fuel tank cap, Porsche logo and Turbo 50 badges, while the contrast is created by an anthracite gray color on the rear spoiler, mirrors, and intakes on the bumpers.

The profile of the car, with decals, is reminiscent of the livery of the Porsche 911 RSR Turbo concept from 1973, which was the basis for the upcoming 911 Turbo (930). On the engine cover is the marking “1974-2024”, while the turbo inscription appears in the light projection when opening the door. It is equipped with a new sports exhaust system with black tailpipes, PASM sports suspension that lowers the car by 100 mm, making its appearance more aggressive.

The interior is inspired by the Zeitgeist movement of the seventies, with MacKenzie tartan inserts on the seats and door panels, while Turbonite details the seat belts and contrast stitching. Perforated RaceTex material covers the ceiling. Turbo 50 badges adorn the illuminated door sills, headrests and numbered plate.

For those who want to stand out from the crowd, they can choose the “50 Years Turbo” Heritage Design package, which includes Aventurine Green Metallic body paint combined with a brilliant silver hood and optional silk matte decals reminiscent of vintage racing cars. Also, stickers can be partially or completely removed.

The 911 Turbo 50 Years is powered by a 3.7-L boxer twin-turbo engine with 641 hp (478 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, paired with an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission that sends power to all the wheels.

Zeekr has the fastest charging battery

“Tesla’s charging technology is no longer industry leading, it hasn’t been for some time,” said Mark Rainford, an analyst of the Chinese auto industry. According to new information, Zeekr has the battery with the fastest charging time to 80%, less than 11 seconds.

“These claims are believable, and even if it’s not the fastest charging battery, being one for the fastest is still a big deal for this Chinese manufacturer. The competition in China is terrifying, and while brands like BYD prioritize sales, brands like which is Zeekr, Li Auto and Nio focus on charging. Zeekr’s parent company Geely is a very vertically integrated business. They have the resources to do this,” Rainford said.

The new battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 10 minutes and 30 seconds using an ultra-fast charger, and the first car to use this battery is the new Zeekr 007. For comparison, Tesla says that a 15-minute charge allows the Model 3 range of 282 kilometers, which is a little less than half of the car’s full range.
