Audi A6 E-Tron Concept

For 2023, Audi has introduced the Audi A6 E-Tron Concept as the first model to use the Premium Platform Electric platform.

The A6 E-Tron Concept is powered by two electric motors with 469 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. High-performance models will accelerate from 0-62 mph in less than 4 seconds and will have all-wheel drive. It is faster than the e-tron GT which takes 4.1 seconds to reach the same speed.

The available 100 kWh battery provides a range of up to 435 miles (700 kilometers). Thanks to the fast charger that allows charging up to 270 kW, 5 to 80 percent of the battery can be charged in just 25 minutes. A 10-minute battery charge provides a range of 187 miles (300 kilometers).

The concept was presented at the beginning of the year and is expected to go into production in 2023. Audi did not reveal all the details of the A6 E-Tron model. All we know is that it will use the Premium Platform Electric platform developed in partnership with Porsche. This platform will be used by all future Audi EV and Porsche models.

It is designed as a 4.96 meters long, 1.96 meters wide and 1.44 meters high sportback. The car will be equipped with Matrix LED lights, 22-inch tires, a new front grille that allows better cooling of the powertrain and brakes, a wide line with digital OLED elements, while the mirrors have been replaced by cameras.

Production should begin later next year and the starting price is expected to be around $ 76,000.

A $ 1 billion fine for BMW, Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche

German carmakers BMW, Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche have received a “gift” from the European Union in the form of a $ 1 billion fine.

According to the EU, they avoided competing in the development of technology that would limit pollution from cars with petrol and diesel engines. It is the first fine that the EU has imposed on holding back the use of technical developments.

EU antitrust chief Margrethe Vestager said: “Manufacturers deliberately avoided to compete on cleaning better than what was required by EU emission standards. And they did so despite the relevant technology being available. ”

Volkswagen believes that the investigation has shown that certain forms of cooperation do not violate the antitrust law. The EU’s decision violates the existing legal basis because it sanctioned cooperation in the development of technology as a violation of antitrust rules, according to VW.

EU rules allow companies to cooperate in the introduction of new technologies to increase efficiency. Reportedly, the companies agreed on the production of smaller tanks and the driving range that could be expected before the tank needs to be filled.

BMW claims that the talks did not affect decision-making and that it will reduce allocations for lawsuits due to unsustainable allegations, although they have prepared $ 1.7 billion for that purpose.

The penalty was not imposed on Daimler, because they revealed the alleged agreements of other manufacturers.

Manhart RQ 900

Manhart Performance has upgraded another Audi model. This time it’s the RQ 900, a high-performance SUV based on the Audi RS Q8.

The Audi RS Q8 is powered by a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine with 600 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, which allows it to reach 62 mph (100 km / h) in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 190 mph (305 km / h). This is more than a good result for a car that weighs almost 2.4 tons. However, that did not impress Manhart.

The RQ 900 is powered by the same V8 engine but with 918 hp and 870 lb-ft (1,180 Nm) of torque. This is still better than Mansory, ABT and MTM, and is currently the second most powerful tuned Audi RS Q8 behind Wheelsandmore’s 996 hp beast.

To achieve high performance, Manhart has installed a new intercooler and a turbo performance kit. Wider fenders, front splitter, rear spoiler, and a new stainless steel exhaust system with four 100 mm exhaust pipes with ceramic or carbon finish have been installed. The RQ 900 has an adjustable suspension that allows lowering by 30 or 40 mm.

Inside, there are leather upholstery with decorative stitching, Manhart floor mats, and “golden” details on the dashboard, steering wheel and doors.

The RQ 900 will use MANHART Classic Line rims with 24-inch tires measuring 295/30 ZR24 and 355/25 ZR24.

Price list of the upgrade package without VAT:

  • performance improvements $ 26,699 (€ 22,500)
  • body kit $ 29,547 (€ 24,900)
  • decals $ 996 (€ 839.5)
  • wheels $ 11,748 (€ 9,900)
  • suspension-lowering software $ 987 (€ 831.93)
  • exhaust / downpipes $ 10,012 (€ 8,437.82)
  • interior upgrades $ 35,480 (€ 29,900)
    Total $ 79,989 (€ 67,409.25)
