2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 sold for $3.7 million

In July 2024, Chevrolet unveiled the most powerful and fastest Corvette ever, the Corvette ZR1. Production has not yet begun, and the first example was recently sold at auction for $3.7 million.

The car was purchased by American businessman and collector Rick Hendrick, who has a collection of older and newer Corvette models, most of which end in the chassis number 001. Part of his collection are the Z08, Z06 convertible and Corvette E-Ray, each of which costs more than a million dollars.

The Corvette ZR1 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.5L DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine with 1,064 hp (873 kW) @ 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft (1,123 Nm) of torque @ 6,000 rpm, paired with a strengthened and recalibrated M1K 8-speed dual clutch (DCT) gearbox. This Corvette (which is not assisted by the hybrid system) has a top speed of more than 340 km/h, and has a power-to-weight ratio of nearly 580 horsepower per ton, which makes it even better than the Bugatti Veyron.

The car is based on the Z06 model and is equipped with several new (optional) carbon body components optimized for speed and better grip on closed tracks. It’s mounted on 20″ front and 21″ rear carbon wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, behind which are carbon-ceramic brakes and tuned adaptive suspension elements that still ensure enough smoothness for public road use. Chevrolet will offer this version to customers in two body styles: CoupĂ© and Cabrio.

Also, Chevrolet has brought back the historic split-window style that was last seen on the C2-generation Corvette. “We did not approach this decision lightly, we know this is a beloved element from Corvette’s history. Not only does this element provide function, but we were able to integrate passionate design into the form and do it in a way that paid tribute to Corvette’s history. The ZR1 felt like the right time to bring the split-window back,” said Phil Zak, executive design director of Chevrolet.

Trump's 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster is up for sale

Trump owns a $2 million car collection, and one of the cars was this Diablo VT Roadster, one of only 132 examples built for US customers. Thanks to his special ties with Lamborghini, Trump got a car made to his liking. It is finished in Blu Le Mans color over cream/black. This color was not officially available in 1997, and there is a “Donald Trump 1997 Diablo” plaque on the driver’s door. According to the partnership agreement, the Italian company had previously given him examples of this car for promotional purposes.

Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster is powered by a 5.7-liter V12 engine with 492 hp (367 kW) and 430 lb-ft (580 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to all wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph). It has only 24,836 kilometers (15,431 miles) on the odometer.

$1.1 million USD is a record amount for a Lamborghini Diablo. Similar examples of this model in similar condition and with no celebrity connection sold for half this amount or even less.

Mustang Dark Horse sold at auction for $375,000 USD

In the middle of 2022, Ford presented the seventh generation of its legendary car, the Mustang Dark Horse. It is about a car whose production will only be limited by demand. The first example was recently sold at a charity auction for $375,000 USD.

This example is finished in Ember Blue Metallic, and is equipped with Recaro sports seats, Handling and Appearance packages, MagneRide suspension, K-brace Torsen rear differential, and Pirreli Trofeo RS tires.

Mustang Dark Horse is offered in two body styles (Coupé and Cabrio). Both versions come with a lot of additional equipment (optional) and a lot of personalization options as well as a significantly changed interior design. This includes higher quality materials and fewer analogies. The old instrument panel has been replaced by an adaptive 12.4-inch display in combination with a high-resolution 13.2-inch display of the multimedia system.

“For decades, Mustang has competed against the most premium brands on the biggest world stages and won. We surprised everyone, and we’re going to surprise them again with a track-capable Mustang that puts a new level of performance, styling and American engineering in the hands of everyday customers who still want the thrill and excitement of a V8 sports car,” said Jim Farley, CEO of Ford Motor Company at the premiere in 2022.

Under the hood is a 5.0L Coyote V8 engine with 500 hp (368 kW) and 418 lb-ft (567 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.

The total amount from the sale will be donated to the humanitarian organization Juventile Diabetes Research Foundation, which works on the prevention and treatment of type 1 diabetes.
