Ferrari limits annual sales of its cars

At Capital Markets Day Ferrari has announced its plans and goals when it comes to sales. According to published information, the company from Maranello will limit the annual deliveries of its models, while by 2026, 3/5 of all offers will have hybrid and purely electric powertrains, and the rest will be cars with internal combustion engines.

Earlier this year, Ferrari released photos of its first SUV, and Ferrari is calling it a “game-changer.” The Ferrari Purosangue should have its world premiere in September, and the first deliveries can be expected early next year. However, sales of the model, which will be powered by a V12 engine, will be limited to only 1/5 of the total annual Ferrari car delivery. Good job Ferrari!

When it comes to other supercars with a V12 engine, the 812 Competizione / 812 Competizione A will be limited to 10 percent of total sales. The Ferrari Icona, which will be produced in only 300 copies, will be limited to just five percent of total sales.

Whether this decision is caused by the current crisis that is shaking the world, and therefore the automotive industry, it is not known. Either way, it is certain that the price of the already limited number of expensive cars will be even higher.

Ferrari 812 and BMW M5 CS in a drag race, who has a better chance?

Ferrari 812 and BMW M5 CS in a drag race, who has a better chance? The guys from the carwow YouTube channel are trying to answer this question.

The Ferrari 812 is powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine with 800 hp (588 kW) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and it weighs 3,968 pounds (1,800 kg). It reaches 60 mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 211 mph (340 km / h). It is mounted on 20 inch wheels wrapped in 275 / 35R20 (front) and 315 / 35R20 (rear) Pirelli tires.

The BMW M5 CS is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 635 hp (467 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. It weighs 4,023 pounds (1,825 kg), which is slightly more than the Ferrari 812. It reaches 62 mph in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 192 mph (309 km / h). It is mounted on 20 inch wheels wrapped in 275 / 35R20 (front) and 285 / 35R20 (rear) Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

At 1/4 mile, both cars achieved the same time of 10.9 seconds, but it should be noted that the BMW M5 had a far better start. At a 1/2 mile, third gear, rolling race from 50 mph in Sport setting, the BMW M5 had no chance. The power of the Ferrari V12 engine and 800 hp was simply enough to leave BMW in the dust. In the braking test from 100 mph, although heavier than the Ferrari 812, the BMW M5 CS needed a shorter distance.

It was nice to see a showdown of two super cars. And yes, it should be noted that this Ferrari 812 is a limited 70th anniversary model that costs £ 450,000 (≈ $ 603,300) in the UK. The price of the BMW M5 CS is £ 141,000 (≈ $ 189,000).
