Upgraded Mercedes G63

Another upgraded Mercedes came out of the workshop of American tuner Pit26. This time it’s a Mercedes G63 with 577 HP, but as a pickup.

To carry out the SUV’s transformation, engineers at Pit26 cut the SUV in half behind the rear seats, lengthened the chassis and added cargo space, as well as portal axles to raise the ride height by 150mm. They installed Bilstein shock absorbers and springs and 18-inch wheels with Toyo off-road tires located inside new wider arches.

In order to more safely overcome all obstacles on the road, steps, front bumper and undercarriage protection were installed for the purpose. There is also a winch in case the pickup gets stuck, and the example in the photos also has roof racks and additional lights. The car has a carrier for two bicycles, which can also be used to store various tools, axes, shovels and chainsaws. Also, there is an adapter for setting up a mini tent.

When it comes to the powertrain, nothing has changed. The Mercedes G63 is still powered by a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with 577 hp (424 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. It reaches 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, and power is sent to all wheels via an AMG speedshift TCT 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

It is certain that this upgraded Mercedes AMG G63 will find its way to its owner who will have to pay $385,000.

P900 based on Mercedes-AMG G63

The Mercedes-AMG G63 is one of the best SUV cars from the German manufacturer, but also a car that many tuners are trying to make better. One of them is Mansory whose latest work P900 is based on this model.

Inspired by the desert, the car is finished in Sand Desert Gloss with contrasting forged carbon parts such as the hood, rear wing and other details. The interior is also decorated with a shade of sand, but it is slightly more orange compared to the exterior. The SUV is mounted on black 24-inch wheels.

The P900 is powered by a 4.0L biturbo V8 engine with 900 hp (661 kW) and 885 lb-ft (1,200 Nm) of torque. A significant increase in power compared to the standard SUV, which has 585 hp (430 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that transmits power to all wheels. It reaches 62 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

Recently, Mercedes announced that it has produced 500,000 examples of the G-Class since 1979, and on this occasion it presented a retro-looking example. Mercedes will also refresh the current G63 model, and spy photos show the SUV under development, which will have a redesigned front and rear fascia, headlights with new graphics, and the interior could get the latest MBUX infotainment technology.

Pit26 Motorsports G63

Everyone knows that Americans love pick-ups, and the Southern Californian company Pit26 Motorsports has prepared a truly unique pick-up based on the Mercedes G-Class, the G63.

The G-Class is an outstanding off-road car, and the engineers at Pit26 Motorsports have done their best to make it even better. The wheel track was widened and the floor, thanks to the suspension components developed by the Bilstein company, was raised by 22 centimeters. Each car will be personalized according to the wishes and needs of the clients.

The chassis has been extended by 50 centimeters, which ensures enough space for a luxuriously equipped cabin that can accommodate five people. Behind the second row of seats there is an open cargo space at the end of which the spare wheel is placed. A total of 1,100 working hours were spent on the development and production of the car, which cost about $390,000.

When it comes to the powertrain, Pit26 Motorsports hasn’t changed anything. The G63 is powered by a 4.0L biturbo V8 engine with 585 hp (430 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. It is mounted on large 18- or 20-inch reinforced Toyo wheels.
