Mercedes-AMG GT XX Unleashed with 1,341 HP and Wild New Look

Mercedes-AMG is charging headfirst into the electric era—and they’re doing it with unmistakable flair. Enter the GT XX, a wild four-door electric super coupe that previews the next-generation AMG GT 4-Door. With more than 1,341 horsepower (1,000 kW) on tap from three axial flux motors, this isn’t just an evolution—it’s a revolution.

A Shocking New Face

Visually, the GT XX is a far cry from its predecessor. The front end evokes aquatic life, with a fish-like nose and a grille so wide it envelops the auxiliary lights. Above it sit stacked headlamps and a motorsport-inspired hood featuring split air vents—clear indicators that performance is at the heart of this design.

Look closer and you’ll spot vertical air curtains, a subtle front splitter, and a rakish windshield that flows into a coupe-like roofline. In a move reminiscent of the Polestar 4, Mercedes has ditched the rear window entirely, relying on cameras and tech to maintain rear visibility.

Aero Meets Art

The GT XX rides on 21-inch aero wheels featuring dynamic sections that open and close depending on cooling needs. Along the flanks, flush-mounted door handles meet gun slit windows and illuminated paint segments embedded in the side skirts—yes, they actually glow when activated by alternating current.

Around back, things get a bit subtler—though hardly boring. Muscular haunches, an active airbrake, and six circular LED taillights flank a carbon fiber diffuser. More futuristic still is the MBUX Fluid Light Panel, which uses over 700 programmable RGB LEDs to display messages or animations, allowing the car to communicate with its surroundings.

Sounds of Silence… and Simulated Roars

While the concept is fully electric, it hasn’t abandoned the drama of combustion-era AMGs. Tucked into the headlights are external speakers, capable of emitting custom driving sounds. A recent teaser hinted at a synthesized V8-like growl—an emotional bridge for enthusiasts wary of the silent EV age.

Finished in a blazing Sunset Beam orange, the GT XX boasts a drag coefficient of just 0.198, rivaling some of the most efficient vehicles on the market.

The Racing Sim Interior

Inside, AMG ditches tradition for tech. Leather and wood make way for carbon fiber, recycled floor coverings, and a minimalist dashboard that looks like it belongs in a sci-fi simulator. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 14-inch infotainment screen dominate the dash, while the compact AMG One-style steering wheel completes the motorsport vibe.

The center console glows with illuminated orange tubes mimicking high-voltage cables, and even the door panels have been reimagined, featuring integrated bars and bright orange pull loops instead of conventional handles.

Powertrain of the Future

Underpinning the GT XX Concept is the all-new AMG.EA platform, built from a mix of aluminum, steel, and composite materials. It’s designed for rigidity, lightness, and crash safety—critical for housing the performance EV’s true party piece: a bespoke battery and three axial flux motors from Yasa.

Mounted in a 1-front, 2-rear layout, the motors enable fully variable all-wheel drive and that staggering 1,341+ horsepower figure. Top speed? A blistering 223 mph (359 km/h).

But it’s not just power—it’s innovation. The NCMA battery features silicon-enriched anodes, cylindrical cells, and a laser-welded aluminum casing, allowing for an impressive energy density of 300 Wh/kg. A high-tech coolant system flows around each cell, ensuring optimal temperatures under extreme loads.

Ultra-Fast Charging Breakthrough

Charging speed is equally jaw-dropping. Mercedes claims the GT XX can recover 249 miles (400 km) of range in just five minutes thanks to an average charging power exceeding 850 kW—many times higher than today’s fastest public chargers.

To match this tech, Mercedes is collaborating with Alpitronic to develop next-gen charging stations and expand the Mercedes-Benz Charging Network, paving the way for a future where recharging an EV takes no longer than filling a gas tank.

With the GT XX Concept, Mercedes-AMG is signaling more than just an electric shift—this is a design, technology, and performance manifesto. Equal parts concept car and near-future preview, it embodies the bold new vision for AMG: unapologetically electric, radically reimagined, and still obsessed with speed.

Mercedes Adds Emotion to EVs with Simulated V8 in Upcoming AMG Sedan

Mercedes-AMG has stirred excitement in the electric vehicle world with a newly released teaser video showcasing its upcoming high-performance electric sedan — a direct competitor to the Porsche Taycan. While specific details remain under wraps, one standout feature already drawing attention is the inclusion of a simulated V8 engine sound and gear-shifting experience, promising to inject some emotional thrill back into silent EV performance.

Electric vehicles have long proven their worth in terms of raw speed and efficiency, but many enthusiasts have lamented the lack of visceral engagement — particularly the absence of engine sound. To address this, a growing number of automakers are exploring synthetic audio enhancements to bridge the sensory gap between traditional combustion power and modern electric drivetrains.

Mercedes-Benz is no stranger to this trend. Its electric G580 model already features the “G-Roar” sound system, designed to mimic the deep rumble of a V8 engine. According to early driver impressions, the system substantially enhances the overall driving experience by restoring some of the emotional feedback typically associated with high-performance vehicles.

The upcoming AMG electric sedan is expected to follow in those footsteps, possibly expanding and refining the synthetic sound technology even further. Though Mercedes has yet to reveal technical specifications or a model name, the teaser suggests a bold new step in the brand’s electrification strategy.

Industry insiders speculate the official debut could come as early as August, setting the stage for a showdown with Porsche’s well-established Taycan — currently one of the benchmarks in the luxury electric performance segment.

As the automotive world continues to evolve, Mercedes-AMG seems determined to prove that electrification doesn’t mean the end of excitement — it just means finding new ways to create it.

Mercedes-AMG GT APXGP Edition in honor of the “F1” movie

The APXGP Edition is a limited edition Mercedes-AMG GT dedicated to the film “F1” which will premiere in June. The main character in the film is Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) who mentors rookie prodigy Joshua “Noah” Pearce, a driver for the Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP).

The car is based on the GT 63 4Matic+ and is equipped with the AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber package and the AMG Aerodynamics package which includes a fixed rear wing, as well as the AMG Night Package II with several black elements.

The APXGP Edition is finished in matt black with contrasting gold details such as the gold edge of the darkened radiator grille and the gold lines running the length of the doors. The rear half of the body features a black and dark grey pattern.

The same theme continues inside the vehicle. The AMG Performance seats are stitched with gold thread, while gold details are also visible on the steering wheel, instrument panel, air vents and center console. For a complete driving experience, there is a Burmester 3D sound system with 15 speakers, ambient lighting and “Limited Edition 1 of 52” plates that emphasize the car’s uniqueness.

When it comes to the powertrain, the APXGP Edition is powered by a 4.0-L twin-turbo V8 engine with 577 hp (430 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. The same engine powers the GT 63 4Matic+, which means it accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 311 km/h (193).

Mercedes has lent several of its cars for the purpose of the film, in which many Formula 1 drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Sergio Perez, Lando Norris, etc. will appear. Also, all the Formula 1 teams will appear in this film.
