2023 Porsche 911 Hybrid on the snowy roads of the north

Porsche is working hard on a hybrid version of its most famous model, which has been hiding behind the number 911 for decades. After being caught testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife a few months ago, the 2023 Porsche 911 Hybrid is now being tested on the snowy roads of the north.

Now spy photos show several prototypes that look reminiscent of the new generation 911 Carrera, which was also tested in the snow, and which should hit the market in 2023. On the front bumper there are two large air intakes with vertical slats, while on the sides there are still unusual lights that we saw on other Porsche prototype models. At the rear, camouflage and snow hides a lot, but we can see the centrally placed exhaust pipes.

When it comes to the powertrain, there is still no information. Some rumors say that the Porsche 911 Hybrid could have over 650 hp (478 kW), but this has not been confirmed.

Porsche is also testing the 911 Cabriolet on the snowy roads of the north. The car is covered in camouflage, and rumors say it will be powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine, instead of the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six that runs the current model. The new 911 Cabriolet should hit the market in 2024.

2024 Porsche 911 (992) Cabriolet

After the recently published photos from the testing of the Porsche 911 Carrera and 911 Turbo, it seems that Porsche has decided to refresh the model 911 (992) Cabriolet. The car was seen on the snowy roads of the north.

Although it wears camouflage on some parts, some changes can still be noticed. The front end is reminiscent of that of the new 911 Carrera, with slightly larger air intakes on the front bumper with vertical slats, while on the sides there are unusual lights, which we hope will be used only in the testing phase.

At the rear, the camouflage hides a lot, but you can see the centrally placed exhaust system pipes and single part LED light bar. The rest of the bumper is covered with camouflage. It is equipped with slightly wider rims wrapped in Michelin tires. Speaking of the interior, it is not known if there will be a change.

When it comes to powertrain, rumors say the new 911 Cabriolet will most likely be powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine with an unknown number of horsepower. The current 911 Cabriolet is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six with a power range from 380 hp to 473 hp.

The new 911 (992) Cabriolet is expected to be unveiled next year as the 2024 model.

Porsche 911 GT3 or 911 Carrera

The guys from Carwow compared the Porsche 911 GT3 and the entry-level 911 Carrera in a track battle. It is not a question of which car is faster, but what we get for the price we pay.

On testing, the Porsche 911 Carrera set a lap time of 47: 9, which is not bad for entry-level 911. The Porsche 911 GT3 set a lap time of 46: 1.

The Porsche 911 Carrera is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine with 385 hp (283 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450Nm) of torque. With a weight of 1,505kg it reaches 60 mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 182 mph (293 kph). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), which enables incredibly swift gear changes without interrupting the flow of power. It is equipped with double wishbone suspension on the front, carbon ceramic brakes, and 19/20 inch wheels with 235 / 40ZR19 (front) and 295 / 35ZR20 (rear) Pirelli tires.

Speaking of price, there is a big difference between these two models. The price of the Porsche 911 Carrera is £ 83,000, while the price of the Porsche 911 GT3 is £ 123,000. Now, what do you get for the extra £ 40,000?

The Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six engine with an impressive 510hp (375 kW) and 347 lb-ft (470 Nm) of torque. It is slightly lighter than the 911 Carrera (1,435kg) and reaches 60 mph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 197 mph (318 kph). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via manual or automatic seven-speed transmission (PDK). It is equipped with carbon ceramic brakes, and 20-inch wheels on the front and 21-inch wheels on the rear with Michelin PS Cup 2 tires.
