13 neglected Porsche 928 models

Maybe the Porsche 928 isn’t a favorite model of fans of the German brand, but no one likes to see neglected cars falling apart. This is exactly what happens in the case of the 13 units of this model.

The neglected Porsche 928 models were found on a property in the United States. The cars fall into disrepair over time, but the owner does not worry about it, stating that he does not want to restore them, but neither does he want to sell them. The property is covered by surveillance cameras to prevent theft of cars or their parts.

The Porsche 928 was produced from 1978 to 1995, which is a rather enviable period of 17 years. It is a sports car with a front-mounted engine, which has had some success in the US.

The Porsche 928 was powered by four engine types:

  • 4.5 liter engine with 237 hp (177 kW) / 219 hp (222 hp; 163 kW) in North America, and 268 lb-ft (363 Nm) of torque;
  • 4.7 liter engine with 296 hp (221 kW) / 229 hp (167 kW) for North America only;
  • 5.0 liter engine with 288 hp (215 kW) for North America;
  • 5.4 liter engine with 345 hp (257 kW).

The TechArt GTstreet R Cabriolet is limited to 87 examples

Three decades of experience have resulted in the unique car of the German tuner company TechArt. This powerful TechArt GTstreet R Cabriolet is based on the current 911 Turbo S version. Since this is a limited edition, only 87 examples will be produced.

With the planned delay, the Convertible version of the currently most powerful Porsche 911 (992) was subjected to the same treatment. As a remainder, the most powerful Porsche is powered by a 3.7-liter six-cylinder engine with 650 hp (478 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque.

The GTstreet R Cabriolet is equipped with several new carbon elements, such as a carbon body or rear wing, which gives it a more aggressive look. The TechArt GTstreet R Cabriolet is powered by a 3.7-liter six-cylinder engine with 800 hp (588 kW) and 701 lb-ft (950 Nm) of torque. The engine produces enough juice for the GTstreet R to reach a top speed of 217 mph (350 km / h).

Tobias Beyer, Managing Director of TECHART Automobildesign GmbH, said: “Since 1987, TECHART customers worldwide have had an almost unlimited range of options for customizing and refining their Porsche vehicles. Based on our founding year, the GTstreet R program will be limited to 87 units. “

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is the first racing car created on the current Series 992. For the latest car tests, in endurance races and several national Cup championships, Porsche’s racing department has chosen to take part in this season’s Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) race.

The test car driven by German drivers Marco Holzer and Uwe Alzen finished in 18th place in the overall standings, which is not so important. Much more important to Porsche is that their, still camouflaged, 992 GT3 Cup has passed the final endurance test in the environment for which it was made.

“As expected, the 911 GT3 Cup performed exceptionally well at its race debut on the particularly demanding Nürburgring-Nordschleife. During its development, we made sure right from the start that it could also be fielded in endurance competitions as well as the one-make cup sprint races. Today’s test run in the NLS underlined that our team has done a great job,” said Project Manager Jan Feldmann.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is powered by a 4.0-liter water-cooled 6-cylinder boxer engine with 510 hp (375 kW) and 347 lb-ft (470 Nm) of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed sequential dog-type gearbox that delivers power to the rear wheels.

It rides on 18-inch wheels with Michelin 30 / 65-18 (front) and 31 / 71-18 (back) tires. It rides on 18-inch wheels with Michelin 30 / 65-18 (front) and 31 / 71-18 (back) tires. For safe braking and stopping there are ventilated 380 mm steel brake discs with six-piston aluminum monobloc racing brake calipers.

Porsche will offer 460 units for this and next season, which will be offered at a starting price of $263,000 (€ 225,000).
