Modified 1982 Porsche 911SC coupe is up for auction

In 1978, Porsche reintroduced the SC designation for the first time since the 356SC, Porsche 911SC. It was produced until 1983 in the body styles Coupe, Targa and Cabriolet, and over 57,000 cars left the production line. One of them modified in 930 Turbo-style, 1982 Porsche 911SC coupe is up for auction.

This 911SC is powered by an air-cooled 3.8L flat-six engine by Torque Power Engines of Reno. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Type 915 five-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. It is mounted on gold 15″ Group 4 wheels wrapped in Cooper CS5 Ultra Touring (front) and Nitto NT555R (rear) tires.

This car is finished in black, and is equipped with modified fiberglass bumpers, steel fender flares, adjustable torsion bars, a rear spoiler, a custom exhaust system, a Steve Wong chip, a front-mount oil cooler, H4 headlights, a sunroof, Vitaloni Californian dual side mirrors, Bilstein shocks and rear helper springs, Rebel Racing RSR-style spring plate bushings, Elephant Racing ball joints, Elephant Racing bump steer kit, 930 Turbo rear torsion bars, and 930 Turbo tie rod ends.

Inside, the sport seats are upholstered in blue fabric with Tartan inserts, while the door panels and dashboard are covered in black vinyl. In front of the driver is a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel and a six-digit odometer showing 13,573 miles (total mileage is unknown). Additional equipment includes an aftermarket harness bar, a JWest Engineering Rennshift shifter, a 917-style shift knob, power windows, RS-style door panels, and metal pedal covers.

The car has a clean Carfax report that shows no accidents or other damage. It comes with recent service records, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The auction ends on October 10 and the highest bid at the time of writing is $72,000 USD.

Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Limited Edition

Between 1950 and 1954, Mexico hosted one of the world’s most dangerous races ever, the Carrera Panamericana. It was a border-to-border sedan rally racing event on open roads, in which two Porsche 550 Coupés also participated. Now 70 years later, Porsche and TAG Heuer pay tribute to these cars with two examples of the most powerful Cayman, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Limited Edition.

The project was done in cooperation with TAG Heuer and the cars were presented at the recently held Rennsport Reunion 7, where Porsche also presented the limited edition 911 GT3 R rennsport. They were finished in gray with the starting numbers on the roof and doors that carried the light and fast 550 Coupé, of which the number 152 was the most successful in the S1.6 class at the time.

“Porsche Latin America is celebrating the legendary Porsche participation in La Carrera Panamericana between 1952-1954, with the creation of these two special vehicles. This year we are proud not only to have created an homage to the starting number 152 who won in its class at the Carrera Panamericana in 1953 but also to reenact the team race with the vehicle starting number 154. In support of our Corporate Social Responsibility programs , the number 152 will be auctioned as well for noble purposes in Mexico” expressed Tobias Eninger, CEO of Porsche Latin America.

With the recognizable TAG Heuer logo on the hood, the Panamericana Cayman GT4 RS with starting number 154 is equipped with an interesting analog clock and stopwatch signed by TAG Heuer. All the quilting in the cabin in both cases is done with thread in the colors of the Mexican flag.

There have been no changes under the hood, so both models are powered by a mid-mounted 4.0-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine with 500 hp (368 kW) at 9,000 rpm and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (PDK). They reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 315 km/h (196 mph).

Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport

Porsche has unveiled a new limited edition racing car, the 911 GT3 R rennsport. Only 77 examples will be produced and will be available to those with deep pockets, as this car costs $1,046,000 million.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport is powered by a 4.2-liter water-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine with 620 hp (456 kW). The engine is paired with a six-speed sequential dog-type transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.

The car will be offered with a range of customization options, such as seven different colors, opt for one of three exclusive paint designs or choose the most flawless color that Rennsport has to offer: pure carbon. It is equipped with adjustable suspension elements like the racing 911 GT3, unsilenced rennsport exhaust system, ultralight 18-inch BBS rims wrapped in Michelin tires. Customers can also get an exhaust system that produces less noise, which is a solution for use on tracks where there are decibel restrictions, and cameras and a special monitor in the cabin have replaced conventional mirrors.

Porsche claims that the 911 GT3 R rennsport is an uncompromising car for use on circuit tracks, but due to the small number of copies, many already perceive it as an expensive collector’s item that will occupy a special place in the garage.
