Rimac Bugatti and Volkswagen Group America agreement

At the 2023 Monterey Car Week Rimac Bugatti signed a contract with Volkswagen Group America for the distribution of Bugatti and Rimac cars on the American market. This agreement increases the availability of Nevera and Bugatti cars, but also better support.

“We are thrilled to continue distributing Bugatti vehicles through our newly signed agreements. We are also excited to import and distribute Rimac models through this collaboration, providing even more variety to our customers,” said Pablo di Si, CEO of Volkswagen Group of America.

This will be a powerful alliance between a major German brand that has a built-up sales and service network in the United States and the manufacturer of the most powerful and fastest electric car in the world.

“For both the Bugatti and Rimac brands, the US is the strongest single market in the world so it is important that we maintain a sales and ownership experience befitting the outstanding cars we deliver to customers. Working with Volkswagen America will allow our US dealer network to grow with vast experience and resources available to them,” said Mate Rimac.

Bugatti Rimac currently offers the Nevera Time Attack, a racing car built for new records and the Bugatti Mistral. Nevera is powered by four electric motors with a total power of 1,914 hp (1,408 kW) and 1,741 lb-ft (2,360 Nm) of torque which is enough to push the car to 62 mph in just 1.81 seconds with the title of EV with the highest verified top speed of 256 (412 km/h).

Bugatti Mistral is powered by a centrally located turbocharged 8-liter W16 engine with 1,600 hp (1,177 kW) and 1,180 lb-ft (1,600 Nm) of torque. The same engine powers the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+. It reaches 62 mph (100 km / h) in just 2.4 seconds, 124 mph (200 km / h) in 5.8 seconds, and 186 mph (300 km / h) in about 12 seconds. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Rimac Automobili announced mysterious cars

A lot can be said about Rimac Automobili. They are one of the best manufacturers of electric hypercars, and recently became a majority shareholder in Bugatti Rimac. They often use social media to publish news about their own activities, and this time they answered questions from followers.

The questions were mostly related to Nevera production, and some of them were: “Can a customer pick any color for Nevera, or you have a set of colors predefined?”, “What’s the hardest part about making a vehicle?”. Now, we know that it takes over 1.5 million working hours to produce one car. Of course, this refers to overall development and not just manufacturing. Also, the customer can select from 36 exterior paint options plus bespoke liveries and carbon tints. Among the many aspects that go into creating and producing a Hypercar, there is a meticulous area that goes unseen, the organization required to handle the wiring throughout the Nevera.

Some were interested in what we can expect from Rimac Automobile in the future. The answer was mysterious. They posted a photo of four covered cars with the message “All in deu time…”. Could we expect new models soon? Also, some wanted to know why they decided to make electric cars, and Rimac Automobili answered “We chose to pursue electric hypercars because we are passionate about innovation and the potential performance from electric.”

Rimac Nevera is ready for the European and U.S. market

Founder and owner of Rimac Automobili, Mate Rimac announced today that the long-running homologation process has finally been completed, and that Nevera is the first US & EU certified electric hypercar.

The last test, a side impact, was also attended by Matt Watson from the YouTube channel Carwow. He posted a video on his YouTube channel explaining the process of testing the $ 2 million car. Nevera showed more in testing than they predicted in Rimac Automobili.

After 45 crash tests and nine destroyed cars, Rimac said that the cars for Europe are ready and that delivery should start soon. Some smaller tests remain for the American market. All Rimac Nevera examples will be produced in a brand-new production facility on the new production line.

Also, Rimac did not hide his excitement that the cars will soon reach customers around the world.
