Mate Rimac received a personalized Nevera

In June 2021, Rimac Automobili introduced one of the most powerful and fastest electric cars, Nevera. Three years later, the founder and CEO of the company, Mate Rimac, announced that he had received a specially designed example of Nevera.

Mate Rimc announced this news on his Facebook profile and chose an elegant and attractive car design in burgundy color, with a black interior stitched with red stitching. The car is decorated with several details such as the Croatian flag on the side mirrors, an embroidered silhouette of “Solinjanka” (women from the old town of Solin) in front of the driver on a dashboard covered in black Alcantara, personalized seats covered in red Alcantara with embroidered “K8” (Kate – dedicated to his wife Katarina) on passenger and “M8” (Mait – dedicated to himself) on the driver’s seat, and a host of other emblems imported into the backrests.

The Rimac Nevera is powered by four electric motors with a total power of 1,914 hp (1,408 kW) and 1,741 lb-ft (2,360 Nm) of torque. It reaches 62 mph in just 1.97 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 219 mph (352 km/h). It is equipped with a lithium-manganese-nickel battery with 6,960 cells and a capacity of 120kWh.

In 2022, the Nevera reached a speed of 412 km/h (256 mph), making it the fastest production electric car in the world. “An incredible speed of 412 km/h is not something you do every day. When we decided to confirm this speed, we made sure we had everything we needed, a location that would give us enough space to reach speed and stop safely, the right tires that are in this case the Michelin Cup 2R, an expert to check their condition, a special Nevera aero profile that reduces the downforce at the front of the car balancing it for stability and a man on a mission to join the 400+ club , our test and development driver Miro,” it was announced from the company.

Rimac Nevera set a new Guinness World Record in reverse

After setting the fastest speed in the category of electric production cars a year ago, Rimac Nevera has now set the Guinness World Record in reverse. It reached a top speed of 275.74 km/h (171.34 mph).

A video of the new Guinness World Record was published on the official RimacAutomobili YouTube channel, and was verified by Dewesoft – at the ATP proving ground in Papenburg, Germany. This was possible thanks to the fact that Nevera’s drivetrain has no gears and its four individual motors generate immense acceleration whether traveling forwards or backwards. Behind the steering wheel was test driver Goran Drndak.

This record is only one of over 20 that Nevera broke this year. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Nevera set a new record on the 1.86 kilometer track with a time of 49.32 seconds.

New Rimac Nevera and eight years of free charging in Europe

IONITY is the largest European network of charging stations, which has over 1,500 charging points on the old continent, and the goal is 7,000 charging points in the future. Rimac Automobili is one of the users of these charging stations, and the company recently announced that those who buy the new Rimac Nevera get free charging in Europe.

In 2021, Mate Rimac announced that the company will build a campus in Croatia with its own funds, which will be the headquarters of Bugatti Rimac. The project was completed on time, and the company recently announced that it is looking for 50 employees for the paint shop in the Rimac campus, who will join the existing team of 26 experts. Now the plan is to build a station with six chargers for visitors to use.

Rimac Nevera is the fastest electric production car, but also one of the most expensive cars in the world (USD $2 million). “When people think of Rimac, they think of the record-breaking performance delivered by Nevera, as well as the cutting-edge technologies at the heart of the company. Nevera was primarily developed as a hyper GT, more than a track-focused car, it’s actually a user-friendly car. Cooperation with IONITY allows us to raise this experience to a higher level,” said Mate Rimac, founder and CEO of Rimac Automobili.
