Manhart Supra GR 550 with 550 HP

MANHART Supra GR 550 is a new project of the German tuner, which is considered one of the best in the world when it comes to German cars, but here and there they also upgrade cars of other brands. This time it’s the Toyota GR Supra.

The car is built on the same platform as the BMW Z4, and it is not the first time that Manhart has upgraded the Supra GR model, as we saw a similar project in 2020. However, this time the car is equipped with a carbon bodykit that makes the Supra GR look like the long-speculated high-performance GRMN flagship. These include a new rear wing, new diffuser, front splitter and side skirts with integrated fins. Buyers can also choose optional carbon side mirror housings and taillight covers, as well as a set of black and red decals. The body kit costs 13,500 euros, but the components can be purchased separately.

The biggest change is under the hood where the now turbocharged 3.0-L twin-power turbo engine (B58) delivers 550 hp (404 kW) and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque. They achieved this by installing a new turbocharger, ARMAspeed carbon intake, radiator, MHtronic module and a stainless steel exhaust system from F1 Exhaust, which comes with an optional downpipe. The body can be lowered thanks to a set of H&R springs or Variant 3 coilover suspension by KW, which further improves handling.

The car is mounted on a set of 20″ Concave One rims wrapped in 255/30 and 295/25 tires, in combination with H&R wheel spacers.

Toyota GR Supra with a 6-speed manual transmission

The news that the Toyota Supra GR will be offered in combination with a 6-speed manual transmission from next year is certainly good news for fans of the three pedals.

The Toyota GR Supra is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 255 hp (188 kW). According to some Japanese media reports, Toyota has decided to offer this model (eight-speed automatic transmission) with a 6-speed manual transmission. Thus, the recently introduced GR 86 will no longer be the only Coupé on offer from the Japanese carmaker, which can be purchased in combination with a manual transmission. This is no surprise, as BMW also offers the same option with the Z4 sDrive 20i model.

The more powerful GR Supra, which is still in the development and testing phase, has already been tested with a manual transmission. It is powered by BMW’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with 340 hp (250 kW).

From Toyota comes the news that the Gazoo Racing department is also preparing the most powerful version of the Supra GRMN, which will be powered by an engine from the BMW M3 / M4. It is a TwinPower Turbo inline-6-cylinder engine with 510 hp (375 kW) that allows the car to reach 62 mph in 3.5 seconds.
