Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo: The V8-Powered Future of Sant’Agata’s One-Make Racer

Lamborghini’s racing arm, Squadra Corse, is moving fast—very fast. Barely weeks after unveiling the track-focused Temerario GT3, the Italians have pulled the covers off its one-make sibling, the Temerario Super Trofeo, slated to storm global circuits in 2027.

And while Lamborghini’s road cars are increasingly hybridized to meet tightening emissions standards, the race cars remain gloriously unfiltered. The Temerario Super Trofeo sticks to pure internal combustion—no electric motors, no batteries, just a twin-turbo V8 screaming behind the driver’s seat.

A New Era Without Losing the Old Fire

This new Super Trofeo replaces the Huracán-based model that’s been thrilling fans (and punishing tires) since 2014. Gone is the naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 that became a hallmark of Lamborghini’s racing soundtrack. In its place: a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, derived from the same powerplant found in the road-going Temerario, but tuned for competition and capped at 650 horsepower per class regulations—down from the engine’s road-legal 800-hp potential.

The exhaust, developed by Capristo, promises to turn every full-throttle burst into a thunderclap. Meanwhile, KW supplies the adjustable suspension hardware, ensuring the new car can carve through corners with precision and fury.

Built for the Track, Not the Street

Unlike the road-going Temerario, which uses an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Super Trofeo sends its power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed sequential gearbox—a mechanical, no-nonsense setup designed for the crucible of competition. Every gearshift will be an event, not a whisper.

The aerodynamic redesign is equally serious. Every panel has been reconsidered with one mission in mind: downforce. Expect an aggressive front splitter, reprofiled side intakes, and a massive rear wing—all tuned to keep the Temerario Super Trofeo glued to the tarmac under extreme G-loads. Drivers will also have access to a multi-level traction control system, offering fine-tuned adjustability for varying grip conditions.

Safety Meets Spectacle

Interior shots haven’t been released yet, but Lamborghini confirms that the cockpit meets the latest FIA safety standards, complete with an integrated roll cage and fire suppression system. This is, after all, a car designed for a one-make championship where amateurs and pros alike will push it to the edge.

The Legacy Continues

Since 2009, Lamborghini’s Super Trofeo series has become a proving ground for gentleman drivers and rising stars alike, evolving through the Gallardo and Huracán generations. The Temerario Super Trofeo is set to continue that legacy, bringing a fresh design language and a new powertrain philosophy without abandoning the visceral thrill that defines the brand’s racing DNA.

The car’s full competition debut is still a couple of seasons away, but one thing’s certain: when it hits the track in 2027, the noise—and the spectacle—will be anything but hybrid.

In the height of the Mediterranean summer, amid the luxury yachts and crystalline waters of Porto Cervo, Lamborghini debuted a stunning, one-off version of its latest hybrid supercar, the Temerario, crafted exclusively by the brand’s Ad Personam customization division. Presented during a private soirée at the elegant Casa Fiorichiari terraces within Twiga club, this special edition—aptly named Temerario ‘Porto Cervo’—captures the very essence of Italy’s most glamorous coastal retreat.

For the 300 guests in attendance, the evening was more than a car reveal—it was an immersive spectacle. Mirrored dancers, synchronized light shows, and a pulsating post-dinner DJ set set the tone for Lamborghini’s latest creation to steal the spotlight. And it did—both figuratively and literally.

The Temerario Porto Cervo is a design and performance statement tailored for connoisseurs who appreciate both the thrill of the drive and the art of personalization. Its exterior, painted in the bespoke Grigio Serget with sparkling blue flakes, echoes the shifting hues of the Sardinian sea under sunlight. The look is completed with contrasting Nero Noctis gloss-black lower elements, Blu Royal pinstriping, and black carbon-effect aero elements, enhancing the vehicle’s dynamic silhouette.

But this isn’t just an aesthetic exercise.

Beneath its sculpted skin lies a brand-new twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain delivering a staggering 920 CV, capable of revving to an eye-watering 10,000 rpm. Designed entirely in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the hybrid system underscores Lamborghini’s leap into the electrified era without compromising its visceral driving appeal.

Inside, the Porto Cervo edition continues its sartorial storytelling. The cabin is wrapped in Grigio Octans leather and Corsa Tex, accented with Blu Nethuns leather inserts and contrast stitching. Embroidered branding, including a Tricolore ‘Temerario’ script and a stylized profile of the car on the door panels, highlight Lamborghini’s Made in Italy craftsmanship. Carbon fiber dominates the center tunnel, dash, and switchgear, while a Corsa Tex and carbon fiber steering wheel with red accents ties it all back to the marque’s racing heritage.

Two special plaques inside the car celebrate its uniqueness: an Ad Personam carbon badge and a “Porto Cervo 2025” plate on the B-pillar—ready to be swapped for a custom engraving once the vehicle is delivered to its lucky owner.

“This Temerario created by Ad Personam truly reflects the diverse lifestyle appeal of Sardinia,” said Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. “It’s equally at home cruising coastal routes or drawing attention at the most elegant occasions. It illustrates the virtually limitless potential of Lamborghini’s personalization program.”

The Temerario’s debut also marks the final piece in Lamborghini’s fully hybridized HPEV lineup, joining the Revuelto and Urus SE in ushering in a new electrified chapter for the Italian marque.

The Revuelto, launched earlier, features a V12 hybrid powertrain producing an astonishing 1,015 CV, setting a new standard for super sports performance with its tri-motor setup, active aero, and carbon-fiber monocoque. On the other hand, the Urus SE, Lamborghini’s latest take on the super SUV, boasts a twin-turbo V8 PHEV powertrain delivering 800 CV and a revolutionary electric torque vectoring system, making it the most dynamic and fun-to-drive SUV in its segment.

Together, these three vehicles—Temerario, Revuelto, and Urus SE—represent not only Lamborghini’s aggressive pivot toward electrification but also a broader design and performance renaissance. Lamborghini Temerario Debuts at Estoril with 920 CV Hybrid Power

In a symphony of speed, innovation, and Italian flair, Lamborghini has officially unleashed its next-generation High-Performance Electrified Vehicle: the Temerario. The global dynamic launch unfolded over 15 adrenaline-fueled days at Portugal’s historic Estoril Circuit, with the world’s media, Lamborghini dealers, and select customers among the first to take the wheel of the brand’s most technologically ambitious supercar to date.

Nestled in the heart of Sant’Agata Bolognese, the Temerario was conceived not just as a hybrid, but as a performance revolution. The new model introduces an entirely new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors, combining to deliver a total output of 920 CV and 800 Nm of torque. The combustion engine alone generates 800 CV at a breathtaking 9,000–9,750 rpm and 730 Nm between 4,000–7,000 rpm—making it the first and only production supercar to reach a maximum 10,000 rpm.

At Estoril, Lamborghini’s ambitions were made tangible. Nearly 100 media representatives from around the globe joined the event to put the Temerario through its paces. They weren’t alone—dealers representing 56 markets, along with a handful of owners, also got their first taste of what Lamborghini calls “the ultimate fun-to-drive HPEV.”

Blistering Performance, Electrified Soul

On the 4.36-km track, the Temerario did more than just impress. With launch control activated, it rockets from 0–100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, hits 200 km/h in under 7.3 seconds, and tops out at 343 km/h. Yet the numbers tell only part of the story.

Drivers explored 13 configurable driving modes designed to adapt the hybrid powertrain’s performance to every scenario—from urban cruising to full-attack circuit driving. On Estoril’s famed corners—where Ayrton Senna once tested the V12 F1-powered Lamborghini in 1993—the Temerario showcased new levels of grip and agility. Downforce at the rear is up 103% compared to its predecessor, with the Alleggerita version boasting a 158% increase. That Alleggerita package, available from launch, also trims more than 25 kg thanks to lightweight materials and delivers a 67% boost in aerodynamic load efficiency.

Advanced Tech, Inside and Out

The engineering doesn’t stop under the hood. Lamborghini has introduced a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that is both more compact and quicker-shifting. In full-electric mode, the Temerario cuts CO₂ emissions by up to 50% over its predecessor.

And thanks to Lamborghini Telemetry 2.0, drivers can analyze lap times, sector performance, and even overlay heart rate data from an Apple Watch to relive each drive with precision. The new infotainment experience blends cutting-edge data with Italian artistry.

Inside the reimagined cabin, occupants are treated to the acoustic signature of Sonus faber, with a bespoke 750W Class-D system. Tuned to the brand’s “Natural Sound” philosophy, it provides lifelike tonal accuracy across an extended frequency range from 30 Hz to 30 kHz—creating an immersive, fatigue-free soundstage befitting the Temerario’s expressive nature.

Customization also takes center stage. Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program allows buyers to choose from over 400 body colors and liveries, luxurious upholstery options in premium leather, and the ultralight Dinamica® microfiber Corsa-Tex fabric.

A New Era, On Every Surface

Partnering once again with Bridgestone, Lamborghini ensured the Temerario is ready for all terrains. The bespoke tyre range—developed using Bridgestone’s Virtual Tyre Development technology—includes the Potenza Sport for summer road performance, the Potenza Race for track domination, and the Blizzak LM005 for winter adaptability. All tyres are available in eight configurations across 20” and 21” dimensions, including a run-flat option.

Bridgestone now stands as Lamborghini’s exclusive tyre partner across its full range, including the Huracán STO, Tecnica, Revuelto, and now the Temerario.

Sustainable by Design

As part of Lamborghini’s growing commitment to environmental responsibility, the Temerario’s launch event was certified under ISO 20121 for sustainable event management. TÜV SÜD granted the certification, marking another milestone in Lamborghini’s plan to certify at least one key event annually under these standards—a commitment first launched in 2022.

From performance and engineering to luxury and sustainability, the Lamborghini Temerario signals a bold future. It’s not just a new chapter in hybrid super sports cars—it’s an entirely new language of speed.
