1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is up for auction

In 1969, Ford presented one of the rarest and highly valued muscle cars to date to fulfill Ford‘s need to homologate the 429 semi-hemispherical engine for NASCAR racing, the Mustang Boss 429. It was produced until 1970, and 1359 cars left the production lines. One of them, a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is up for auction.

Mustang Boss 429 is powered by a 7.0L 429ci V8 engine with a factory output of 375 hp (280 kW) and 450 lb-ft (610 Nm) of torque at 3400 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok differential. It sits on 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels wrapped in 205/70 Goodyear Polyglas GT tires.

This car is finished in Candyapple Red, well maintained and in good condition. It is equipped with a front spoiler, a vented hood, dual side mirrors, a rear spoiler, Boss 429 badging, dual exhaust outlets, a Traction-Lok differential, revised control arms, a higher-rate front anti-roll bar than other Mustang variants, a rear anti-roll bar, a competition suspension with staggered rear shocks, and power-assisted brakes with discs up front and drums out back.

Inside, high-back bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl that also covers the door panels, rear bench, center console and dashboard, with color-keyed carpets, and simulated woodgrain appliqués on the dashboard. In front of the driver is a three-spoke wood-trimmed steering wheel behind which is a five-digit odometer showing 4,407 miles. Additional equipment includes the Interior Decor Group–Deluxe and Visibility Group packages, and it features a Philco AM radio, a dash-mounted rally clock, deluxe seat belts, and courtesy lights for the glovebox, ashtray, and trunk.

The car comes with the removed factory wheels, a window sticker, two build sheets, an owner’s manual, and a clean Missouri title.

The auction ends on October 7th and the highest bid at the time of writing is $400,000 USD.

A large car collection is up for auction

At the beginning of the year, YouTuber Omi in a Hellcat (Bill Omar Carrasquillo) was sentenced to 66 months in prison for illegally selling content hijacked from cable boxes. He and his accomplices earned 30 million dollars (or about 28.6 million euros) from this illegal activity. Now, he has to pay cable operators $10.7 million (€10.2 million), the IRS $5 million (€4.7 million), and will lose his car collection.

“I really didn’t know the significance of this crime until I was picked up at my home. I feel like I let everybody down,” said Bill Omar Carrasquillo.

His car collection is offered for sale and consists of a total of 32 cars, as well as several quads, motorcycles and other vehicles. Among them are two copies of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, Dodge Durango SRT, four Lamborghinis, two Ford Mustangs, Audi R8, Acura NSX, Bentley Continental GT, BMW M8, Toyota Supra, Honda Civic Type R and others. The star of the auction is the 2019 Lamborghini Aventador LP740-4S, which is adorned with a foil with a Power Rangers design.

“Thirty million dollars is a lot of money, tangible objects aren’t everything. You have a large following and there may be people who think if you can get away with it, they can too,” said U.S. District Judge Harvey Bartle III.

Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Limited Edition

Between 1950 and 1954, Mexico hosted one of the world’s most dangerous races ever, the Carrera Panamericana. It was a border-to-border sedan rally racing event on open roads, in which two Porsche 550 Coupés also participated. Now 70 years later, Porsche and TAG Heuer pay tribute to these cars with two examples of the most powerful Cayman, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Limited Edition.

The project was done in cooperation with TAG Heuer and the cars were presented at the recently held Rennsport Reunion 7, where Porsche also presented the limited edition 911 GT3 R rennsport. They were finished in gray with the starting numbers on the roof and doors that carried the light and fast 550 Coupé, of which the number 152 was the most successful in the S1.6 class at the time.

“Porsche Latin America is celebrating the legendary Porsche participation in La Carrera Panamericana between 1952-1954, with the creation of these two special vehicles. This year we are proud not only to have created an homage to the starting number 152 who won in its class at the Carrera Panamericana in 1953 but also to reenact the team race with the vehicle starting number 154. In support of our Corporate Social Responsibility programs , the number 152 will be auctioned as well for noble purposes in Mexico” expressed Tobias Eninger, CEO of Porsche Latin America.

With the recognizable TAG Heuer logo on the hood, the Panamericana Cayman GT4 RS with starting number 154 is equipped with an interesting analog clock and stopwatch signed by TAG Heuer. All the quilting in the cabin in both cases is done with thread in the colors of the Mexican flag.

There have been no changes under the hood, so both models are powered by a mid-mounted 4.0-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine with 500 hp (368 kW) at 9,000 rpm and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (PDK). They reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 315 km/h (196 mph).
