Polestar produced the 100,000th Polestar 2

In 2020, the Swedish electric car manufacturer Polestar unveiled its new car, the Polestar 2. It took only 30 months for the company to produce 100,000 units of this model.

The car is produced at the Volvo plant in China, and Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said that the company is proud of the achieved result. They are particularly pleased with the fact that the Polestar 2 was presented during the coronavirus pandemic, and the latest analyzes show that the demand for this electric car is growing.

Polestar 2 is offered in combination with one or two electric motors. The base version is powered by a single electric motor with 224 hp (165 kW) and 243 lb-ft (330 Nm). It is equipped with a 64 kWh battery pack that enables a range of up to 440 kilometers (WLTP). The most powerful version is powered by two electric motors with 408 hp (300 kW) and 487 lb-ft (660 Nm). It is equipped with a 78 kWh battery pack that enables a range of up to 480 kilometers. It also has AWD.

Currently, the Polestar 2 can be purchased in 27 countries worldwide, and in the first nine months of this year it found its way to almost 18,000 customers and remains among the best-selling electric models in the premium segment.

In the next three years, Polestar intends to expand its offer with three new models, the first of which is the recently presented Polestar 3 SUV, whose sales will begin next year. The Polestar 4 crossover coupe will arrive in 2024, and the Polestar 5 luxury sedan is expected to arrive in 2025.

2023 Zenvo TSR-GT

The Danish company Zenvo Automotive has revealed its new TSR-GT hypercar, which will be produced in only three copies. The first information about this company appeared a few years ago when the company introduced an active wing on its TSR-S model.

The new TSR-GT has a fixed rear wing that, in addition to other changes to the bodywork, gives the car better aerodynamics but also enables a higher maximum speed compared to previous models.

“A new era for Zenvo beckons, but before then, we’ve created our interpretation of a GT variant of the TS platform. We’ll make just three models, all of which are allocated to global collectors, much like Tim Burton’s TSR-S, which he took delivery of this year,” said Zenvo’s Chief Commercial Officer and Chairman of the Board, Jens Sverdrup.

The TSR-GT is powered by a 5.8-liter twin-supercharged flat-plane V8 engine with 1,360 hp (1,000 kW), which is enough to propel the car to a top speed of 263 mph (424 km/h). In order to achieve this speed, the engineers equipped the car with a new type of aero wheel disc cover, designed to reduce drag. The engine is paired with a helical-cut dog-engagement transmission.

The cars will be produced in the Danish factory. All three cars have already been sold for an unknown price. The GT follows the track-only TSR model we saw in 2016, as well as the TS1 GT and TSR-S that arrived later.

2023 BMW 3.0 CSL

The recently introduced BMW M4 CSL did not hold the title of the most powerful model from the BMW M division for long. That place now belongs to the long-awaited 2023 BMW 3.0 CSL, which BMW produced in honor of its 50th birthday.

This car is a reminder of the legendary model 3.0 CSL (E9), whose racing edition (Batmobile) dominated the racetracks around the world in the 70s. It is based on the M4 CSL version, and the Bavarian-based company will produce only 50 examples of this model.

It is equipped with yellow LED laser lights, body made of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP), rear wing and the lettering on the roof, forged lightweight crankshaft, 3D printed cylinder head core, specially designed oil supply and cooling system, adaptive dampers, variable -ratio electric power steering and carbon-ceramic brakes. It is mounted on 20″ and 21″ center-locking wheels wrapped in specially developed Michelin tires.

The BMW 3.0 CSL has an extended body in the distinctive colors of the M division and with several details reminiscent of the original racing 3.0 CSL (Competition Sport Lightweight). It is powered by a 3.0 L inline-six engine with 560 hp (412 kW) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.

BMW did not announce the price of the car, but some information says that the new BMW 3.0 CSL will cost €750,000.
