In 2019, Morgan Motor Company unveiled its new Plus Six sports car, and a year later the Plus Four roadster. Now Morgan has prepared a refresh for its immortal “open-air” duo, and the most changes come in the cabin.
Both models now have a new aluminum dashboard, which is offered in several colors, with a larger LCD display in addition to the traditional analog instruments behind and next to the steering wheel. Airbags, which were optional before the redesign, are now standard. There is also a new glove box design, and for a better atmosphere there is a superb Sennheiser audio system with eight speakers. The seats are upholstered in leather with two-tone fabric, which can also be seen on the door panels. Also, both cars now have new shock absorbers and Electronic Stability Control and AP Racing braking system.
The Morgan Plus Four is powered by a BMW 2.0-liter twin-turbo inline four-cylinder engine with 255 hp (190 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear axle via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Customers who want the 6-speed manual version can count on 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. It reaches 62 mph in 5.2 seconds (4.8 seconds with the automatic transmission) with a top speed of 149 mph (240 kph).
The Morgan Plus Six is powered by a BMW 3.0-liter B58 twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine with 335 hp (250 kW) and 369 lb ft (500Nm) of torque. The engine is paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission with sport, sport+ and manual shift modes. It reaches 62 mph in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 166 mph (267 kph).
When it comes to price, Morgan has not yet revealed how much the refreshed models will cost.
