Mazda is withdrawing the CX-3 model from the European market

After withdrawing the CX-3 from the US market five months ago, Mazda will now do the same for European customers. This is not surprising given the excellent sales results that the Japanese car company is achieving with the CX-30 model.

Mazda representatives in Europe have announced that the CX-3 will be on offer until the end of the year, when it will be completely replaced by the CX-30 as the smallest crossover on offer.

The Mazda CX-3 is powered by a 2.0-liter SKYACTIV DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine with 148 hp (109 kW) and 146 lb-ft (198 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. It reaches 62 mph in 8.8 seconds with a top speed of 114 mph (183 km / h).

The Mazda CX-30 is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 186 hp (137 kW) and 186 lb-ft (252 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. It reaches 62 mph in 6 seconds with a top speed of 127 mph (204 km / h). We also offer a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine with 250 hp (184 kW).

The CX family will be expanded with several new models such as the CX-50, CX-60 and CX-80, which are expected in the next two years. A six-cylinder SkyActiv engine is currently under construction to be combined with plug-in hybrid technology.

Porsche 911 Strassenversion is for sale

The Porsche 911 Strassenversion is a rare car produced in only 20 copies. One such copy with 489 miles (787 kilometers) is now offered for sale.

The 1998 Porsche GT1 Strassenversion is painted in Fern white. With a wide body and extreme aerodynamic components, the car is equipped with large air intakes, 996 generation style lights, 4-wheel independent double-wishbone suspension with adjustable coil springs, shock sbsorbers, and stabilizers.

The 911 Strassenversion is powered by a water-cooled twin-turbocharged 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine with 700 hp (515 kW). This is a significant increase in power of 163 hp compared to the standard model. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission with Limited-Slip Differential. It reaches 62 mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph (310 km / h).

This exotic beast is legal for the road and is in fantastic condition. Although it is not as rare as the lighter GT1-98 Strassenversion, the new owner will still have to pay € 10,550,000 for it, without taxes.

New power supply system for electric trucks

The development of fully electric vehicles is currently in great expansion. To ensure a long range, especially of transport vehicles, new solutions are being sought, such as overhead power cables. Testing of this way of powering electric trucks is done in Lubeck, Germany.

Cables, ie wires, are located above the highway. Trucks make contact by lifting the connectors, which power the engine. Testing has been going on for almost two years and will continue in 2022.

Certainly, the construction of such a voltage network is not a cheap project. David Cebon, a professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cambridge, believes the project could be funded by charging electricity to system users at affordable prices.

Since the connectors will only touch the wires, trucks will be able to use an electric or diesel engine in situations where they have to change lanes or leave the highway. The network should be available on 30 percent of German highways, which would reduce truck emissions by two-thirds.

This system would only be used by trucks using highways, while the rest of the transport would be done by battery-powered trucks, such as the Mercedes eActros.
