Porsche 911 (993) Bubblegum

The Goodwood Festival of Speed has started and on the first day we saw the restomod Porsche 911 (993) Bubblegum, made by Gunther Werks. This is the latest work of a company that specializes in Porsche cars, especially the legendary 911.

The car is finished in a special pink pearl shade with ultra fine metallic shades, and it was done for a special client from Great Britain. A stripped carbon line runs down the middle of the car, and Gunther Werks say this unique creation marks the company’s official debut in various European markets and the UK.

There is little information about this unique car. However, there is a lot of speculation. Some believe, when it comes to the powertrain, that under the hood is a 4.0L flat-six twin-turbo engine with 700 hp (515 kW) paired with a manual gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels. This would mean that the engineers used the same engine as on last year’s Project Tornado.

Project Tornado is powered by an air-cooled 4.0-liter flat-six twin-turbo engine that in race mode delivers 700 hp (522 kW) and 560 lb-ft (759 Nm) of torque. In standard form, the engine delivers 600 hp (447 kW). Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.

It is equipped with a carbon body, a large rear wing with functional vents for cooling, wide rear wheel arches, and a new splitter. Inside are carbon fiber seat buckets covered in black Alcantara with pink stitching. The steering wheel is also wrapped in black Alcantara with pink stitching, while the door panels are made of carbon fiber. The dashboard is covered in black leather.

Porsche sales results in the first six months of 2023

Last year was the most successful in history for Porsche when it comes to sales, with a profit of 6.8 billion euros. According to data for the six months of 2023, Porsche appears to be achieving better sales results.

In the first six months of this year, Porsche delivered a total of 167,354 vehicles to customers worldwide. When it comes to individual markets, Porsche sold the most cars in China (43,832 vehicles), which is an increase of 8 percent. “Value-driven growth is a top priority for Porsche. To achieve that, we are continuing to focus on flexibility as the global economic situation remains challenging. Especially in China, we are striving for a balance of supply and demand in line with our luxury positioning,” said Detlev von Platen .

In North America, 41,937 vehicles were delivered, an increase of 12 percent. In Europe, the highest sales growth of 23 percent was recorded, with 36,574 vehicles delivered, of which 17,118 vehicles were in Germany, which is a growth of 24 percent. In other markets, 27,893 vehicles were delivered, which is a growth of 16 percent.

The highest demand is for SUV models: Porsche Macan 47,755 vehicles (+26 percent), Cayenne 46,884 vehicles (+12 percent), while the legendary 911 model was delivered 26,124 times (+21 percent).

Electric models have seen a drop in sales, primarily due to the current chip crisis that has hit all electric vehicle manufacturers. For example, 17,991 units (-5 percent) of the electric Taycan were sold in the first half of the year.

Other models recorded significant growth: Porsche Panamera 17,565 units (+13 percent), 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman 11,035 units (+13 percent).

We don’t know what to expect from the rest of the year, but 2023 could be a very successful year for Porsche. Maybe with record sales.

Aston Martin Valour

In 1913, Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford founded a company that would be the predecessor of the British car manufacturer we now know as Aston Martin. Celebrating more than a century of existence, Aston Martin has introduced a new model, the Aston Martin Valour.

Its carbon body is finished in green, and in Aston Martin’s Q department they have already prepared a palette of additional body colors and numerous optional elements for the body and in the cabin, and customers will have many options for personalization. It sits on unique 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport S5 tires.

Valour is powered by a 5.2L twin-turbo V12 engine with 705 hp (518 kW) and 555 lb-ft (753 Nm) of torque. It will be the last Aston Martin model to be powered by a V12 engine. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential. It is equipped with 410/360 mm (front/back) carbon-ceramic brakes, new suspension with adaptive shock absorbers and stabilizers.

Only 110 examples will be produced, and production begins these days. The first deliveries to customers are planned for the fourth quarter. Performance data have not yet been published, and the Valour without options from the Q department costs more than 975,000 euros.
