IONITY is increasing the number of charging stations in Europe

The increase in sales of electric vehicles affects the increase in the number of charging stations. Thus, in the next three years, IONITY (the largest European network of charging stations) is expected to increase its capacity to over a thousand charging stations.

Porsche AG Executive Board Chairman Oliver Blume said: “We are seeing a clear increase in electromobility and the associated high-performance charging infrastructure. At Porsche, 50 per cent of the cars delivered worldwide by 2025 are expected to be partially or fully electric – more than 80 per cent by the end of the decade. By investing in the IONITY joint venture, we are sending an important signal to customers that elevates the comfort and convenience of traveling in an electric vehicle even further. ”

Currently, IONITY has 1,500 charging points, and the intention is to increase that number to 7,000 charging points. They will be built next to larger cities, not just on European highways, and each station will have 12 charging points.

This will have a special significance for owners of Porsche EV models (such as the Porsche Taycan). Through 800-volt technology, they will be able to charge their cars with full potential up to 270 kW. Currently, Porsche through its Porsche Charging Service offers its customers 200,000 charging points of which 6,500 are with a charging capacity of more than 50 kW DC.

IONITY is owned by several major global car manufacturers such as Volkswagen Group, Hyundai Motors, Mercedes-Benz AG, BMW Group and Ford Motor Company.

Porsche announces a new SUV model above the Cayenne

Porsche has announced the arrival of a new SUV model to be positioned above the Cayenne. According to Automotive News, Porsche informed dealers about this, and one of them revealed that the new model is a combination of crossover and sedan, with a design different from current Porsche SUV models.

Without enough information, because the vehicle is part of the Porsche Unseen program, where most remain just an idea. “We’re grateful for such creativity within our business, as we’re continuously exploring new opportunities and where we might compete in the future,” a Porsche spokesman said.

It is not known whether the three-row vehicle will use technologies from Audi’s Project Artemis, which has been announced for 2024. “We are very open in sharing ideas under an initiative — Porsche Unseen — the majority of which don’t make it beyond the ideas stage,” a Porsche spokesman said.

The vehicle is being developed under the code name “Landjet” and will be powered by a plug-in hybrid engine. For now, the electric version is not in the plans, but that does not mean that we may not see it in the future.

Hennessey Venom F5

In 2017, Hennessey unveiled its ultra-sports model Venom F5. This Texas based company recently delivered the first unit, a $ 2.1 million model, to a customer.

From Hennessey, which is widely known for its tuning projects based on American muscle cars, they claim that the ultra-sports two-seater Venom F5 is the most powerful car in the world that will be able to develop a speed of 311 mph (500 kph).

The Venom F5 is powered by a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 1,817 hp (1,355 kW) and 1,193 lb-ft (1,617 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7-speed single-clutch automated manual transmission. Although it weighs 3,053 lb (1,385 kg), it reaches 62 mph in 2.6 seconds, 124 mph (200 kph) in 4.7 seconds, 186 mph (300 kph) in 8.4 seconds and 248 mph (400 kph) in 15.5 seconds. The F5 should be Hennessey’s response to competitors Bugatti, Koenigsegg, SSC, etc.

The Venom F5 will be produced in limited numbers, and all 24 units have already been sold. The first unit was delivered to an unnamed customer who had previously accepted a contract under which the car could not travel more than 2,500 miles (4,023 kilometers) per year. The remaining units will be delivered by 2024.
