Aurus Senat

The most expensive Russian car in history sold out in a few days. It is an Aurus Senat model of the Russian company Aurus Motors, which arrived on the market at the beginning of the year.

The 5.6-meter-long sedan, which at first glance resembles a Rolls-Royce, is intended primarily for wealthy Russian customers. The Aurus Senate is powered by a Porsche Engineering developed 4.4-liter twin-turbo gasoline V8 engine with 598 hp (440 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. This 2.8 tonne cruiser reaches 62 mph in 6 seconds with a top electronically limited speed of 155 mph (250 km / h). The engine is paired with a nine-speed KATE R932 automatic transmission, developed exclusively in Russia, which transmits power to all wheels.

In early October, the first units arrived in Moscow salons. However, after just a few days from Aurus they reported that all 350 copies to be produced this year had been sold. Therefore, they are forced to open the list of orders for next year already now. The company intends to produce 120 units of this model annually. The V12 version will be offered later.

It seems that the Russians really want to drive a presidential limousine in top performance, but also the pride of the new Russian car industry. The price of the Aurus Senate is around 24 million rubles (€ 289,000).
