Pac-Man arcade game available in VW cars

Volkswagen has recently updated the software in all ID. cars, which now offers even more entertainment for passengers. They will now be able to enjoy playing one of the most famous maze video games in the world, Pac-Man.

Initially, Pac-Man will be available for all models that integrate the ID Software 4.0 operating system and all those that will be produced this year, which is approximately 300,000 Volkswagen cars in Europe. Passengers will be able to play the game via AirConsole and instead of Pac-Dots, Pac-Man will eat the Volkswagen logo and silhouettes of some VW cars. To complete the gaming experience, there is also the ID Light ambient lighting system that will react to what is happening in the game using a dynamic lighting system. It is important to note that the Pac-Man Championship Edition game will only be available when the car is parked and the engine is off.

The AirConsole app is available in the car’s online multimedia system store, for users who have subscribed to VW Connect Plus.

The Pac-Man game was created by Toru Iwatani at the end of 1980, and since then it has become one of the greatest video games of all time. Also, it is one of the highest-grossing and best-selling games (48 million copies), generating more than $14 billion in revenue.

Porsche 911 GT3 is 10 seconds faster than Dodge Viper ACR

The Porsche 911 GT3 is the new king of the Nürburgring for cars with a manual transmission. It was 10 seconds faster than the previous fastest car, the Dodge Viper ACR.

The Dodge Viper ACR ruled the Nürburgring for eight years, with a lap time of 7:01.3. However, this lap time was set when the full lap (20 km) was not counted. The previous rules at the Nürburgring did not take into account the main straight to the finish line. On the shortened track, the Porsche 911 GT3, with almost 140 hp less, was 10 seconds faster than the Viper ACR, with a lap time of 6:51.764.

Behind the wheel was driver Jorg Bergmeister, who completed the 20 km course in 6:56.294. That’s impressive considering the new record is faster than the lap time of the previous 911 GT3, which used the PDK transmission.

The car was equipped with the optional Weissach package, which includes a range of ultra-lightweight components and carbon fiber parts, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.

Alfa Romeo has a new logo for its 115th birthday

It has been 115 years since Cavaliere Ugo Stella founded A.L.F.A. (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) and the Italian brand has decided to present a special logo for this occasion. Its design combines the history of Italian passion, style and sporting competition and will be used at special events.

With a modern design and a connection to the company’s history, the special logo is a combination of the number “115” and the Biscione (the brand’s historical sign), innovation and movement. The black and red color combination represents the brand’s identity and pays homage to previous Alfa Romeo logos.

This year Alfa Romeo is celebrating the anniversaries of some of its most significant sports successes. On 12–13 April 1930, the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport #84, driven by Tazio Nuvolari and Giovanni Battista Guidotti, achieved victory in the Mille Miglia. It was Nuvolari’s first victory in this race and the first to reach an average speed of 100 km/h on this demanding track. The second date is April 15, 1923, when Ugo Sivocci, driving an Alfa Romeo RL TF, won the Targa Florio. It was the first victory with the Quadrifoglio symbol on the body of the car. In 1925, the Alfa Romeo GP Tipo P2 won the first World Championship in motoring.

It is an interesting fact that almost all significant events took place in years ending with the number “5”. In 1955, the Giulietta Berlina debuted, ten years later (1965) the Giulia Sprint GTA arrived on the market. In 1975, the 33 TT 12 won the Constructors’ World Championship, and ten years later the Alfa 75 was introduced. It was the last mass-produced model on the Alfetta platform.
