Australian Police Seized $20M Supercar Collection in Pharmaceutical Fraud Case

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) began investigating the man in early 2023 following allegations tied to fraudulent claims under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), a federal program designed to make prescription medications affordable for Australians. Authorities believe that for nearly a decade—between 2014 and 2023—the man, believed to be a licensed pharmacist, made false claims amounting to more than AU$10 million (US$7 million).

  • A McLaren 765LT, finished in black with red accents and MSO (McLaren Special Operations) customization—an elite spec for one of the brand’s most extreme road-legal machines.
  • Seven BMWs, including a matte black G80 M3 and a luxury 7-Series, underscoring the suspect’s taste for both performance and executive comfort.

But this wasn’t just a car lover’s loss. Authorities also froze several of the man’s bank accounts and confiscated real estate, bringing the total value of seized assets to over AU$20 million (approximately US$13.15 million). The man now faces two counts of dealing with proceeds of crime worth AU$1 million or more, alongside two counts of dishonesty causing a loss to the Commonwealth. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 35 years in prison.

What sets this case apart isn’t just the scale of the alleged fraud—it’s the unmistakable intersection of financial crime and automotive passion. These vehicles weren’t just casually acquired. Lamborghini Goes Extreme with New Fenomeno Hybrid Supercar

Lamborghini has dropped a tantalizing teaser of what promises to be its next show-stopping limited edition: a wild new model set to debut during Monterey Car Week on August 8. Though not yet officially confirmed by the brand, insiders suggest the car will be named Fenomeno, and production will be capped at a mere 29 units worldwide.

The new model, a “few-off” in the Lamborghini tradition, will reportedly be based on the Revuelto, the brand’s flagship plug-in hybrid V12 supercar. However, the teaser hints that this isn’t just a styling exercise. Lamborghini appears to be preparing an entirely new body design, one that embraces the brand’s more radical design language—likely pushing the already aggressive Revuelto even further into visual insanity.

While Lamborghini remains tight-lipped on the details, the teaser image suggests extreme aero elements and dramatic sculpting—hallmarks of past limited-run legends. The name “Fenomeno” (Italian for “phenomenon”) seems fitting for a model intended to push the limits of what even Lamborghini considers extraordinary. The Few-Off series has long served as a laboratory for the company’s most daring ideas—both stylistically and technologically—and the Fenomeno looks set to continue that tradition.

With just 29 examples planned, the Fenomeno will likely be spoken for well before it makes its official debut. Expect a price tag deep into the seven figures and a place alongside icons like the Sesto Elemento, Veneno, and Sián in the brand’s ultra-exclusive pantheon.

Dash Bespoke Introduces Custom Supercar Platform with TR01 Chassis

In the world of supercars, personalization often comes at a premium—if it’s offered at all. Buyers are typically funneled into narrow spec sheets, handed a few trim options, and told to enjoy their six-figure machines just like everyone else. Full customization? That’s a privilege reserved for the ultra-rich and limited to the sacred stables of brands like Ferrari.

But a new British company is aiming to change that.

Enter Dash Bespoke, a fresh offshoot of renowned racing engineering firm Dash, which has been in the motorsport trenches since 2006. Their mission? To give enthusiasts and visionaries a more accessible pathway to creating a truly one-of-a-kind supercar—built virtually from the ground up.

At the heart of Dash Bespoke’s offering is the TR01 platform, a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque chassis first unveiled in 2023. Not only is it ultra-stiff and performance-ready, but it’s also fully Euro NCAP compliant—making it legal for road use in the UK. The chassis accommodates a wide range of powertrains, from electric setups to burly V-8s, and supports everything from road-going supercars to purpose-built race machines.

“The TR01 allows us to create a completely tailored vehicle without starting from scratch every time,” explains Dash CEO Tim Robathan. “Bringing a bespoke or low-volume performance vehicle to life is a monumental undertaking. For many brands and visionaries, the obstacles involved can bring a project to a halt. That’s why we created Dash Bespoke.”

Their first creation will be unveiled to the world at this summer’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. Called the SlipStream, the debut model will feature a mid-mounted V-8 engine from New Zealand’s Hartley Engineering—the same powerplant specialists behind the Nilu27 supercar. The SlipStream also boasts bespoke carbon fiber subframes, light alloy suspension components, and high-performance hydraulic dampers from Nitron.

While Dash hasn’t released pricing, it’s safe to assume the SlipStream won’t be cheap. But with the promise of true customization—beyond what traditional supercar makers are willing to offer—it could very well be a more cost-effective and flexible alternative for those dreaming beyond the showroom catalog.

In a market often defined by exclusivity and restriction, Dash Bespoke is offering something rare: a blank canvas with a high-performance heart. And for the passionate few who want more than just another badge on the hood, that might be the most valuable luxury of all.
