Porsche Taycan GTS and GTS Sport Turismo

For this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, Porsche has prepared several new models, including the new electric Taycan in two versions, the GTS and the GTS Sport Turismo.

The Taycan GTS is equipped with a combination of colors and materials as well as recognizable black details such as side window trims, the bases of the exterior mirrors and the front apron. There is also an adaptive air suspension. It is powered by two electric motors with a total power of 598 hp (440 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque, which places it between the 4S and Turbo versions. It reaches 62 mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph (250 km / h). It has a 93.4 kWh battery which, when fully charged, provides a combined electrical range (WLTP) of 424 – 504 km.

Vice President Model Line Taycan, Kevin Giek says: “The Taycan model range has grown steadily since its world premiere in 2019. Three body variants with up to five engine options offer something for everyone. I am particularly pleased that we now also have a Taycan with the legendary GTS moniker. It is positioned above the Taycan 4S and below the Taycan Turbo derivatives, so it represents a real sweet spot in the range. ”

The Taycan GTS Sport Turismo has the same design as the Cross Turismo, but without the off-road design elements. It is equipped with a panoramic roof divided into nine segments that can be switched individually with Sunshine Control. It is powered by two electric motors with 598 hp (440 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm), as well as a GTS model.

The Taycan GTS and GTS Sport Turismo will hit the market early next year. The price of the GTS model in Germany is 131,834 euros, while the GTS Sport Turismo costs 132,786 euros.

Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS

As announced last month, Porsche unveiled the new 718 Cayman GT4 RS a few hours ago. It is the fastest and most powerful Porsche Cayman with 493 hp.

The GT4 RS has already shown its potential in the final testing phase when it set a lap time of seven minutes and 4.5 seconds on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Much of the credit for overall performance goes to weight reduction (22 pounds less than the GT4), improved adjustable suspension, and optimized adaptive aerodynamics. All of this makes the grip of the GT4 RS 25 percent better than the Cayman GT4. For the first time, the Cayman is equipped with central locking rims.

It is equipped with an engine from the Porsche 911 GT3, with a slightly lower number of horsepower. That shouldn’t worry Cayman fans because the 4.0-liter flat six engine with 493 hp (368 kW) and 331 lb-ft (449 Nm) of torque still has 80 hp more than the Cayman GT4. With a weight of 3,227-pound (1,464-kilogram) it reaches 62 mph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph (316 km / h). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission with two clutches (PDK).

It is expected to hit the market in early 2022 with a starting price of $ 141,700.

Porsche has also introduced the racing Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, which will delight many private teams around the world.

The arrival of the hybrid Porsche 911 has been confirmed

A few days ago, CarSpyMedia posted a video on its YouTube channel of a possible road-legal hybrid Porsche 911 Turbo S. This was also confirmed by Porsche CEO Oliver Blume.

In an interview with Automobilwoche, Oliver Blume said: “It won’t be a plug-in hybrid, but it will be a very sporty hybrid from motorsport.” Did he mean that the performance of this road-legal hybrid will be similar to racing models? For now, there is no information about the performance of this car, but it can be guessed that it will be more powerful than the Turbo S model. Could that mean close to 700 hp?

For now, all we know is what we can see in a short video that lasts less than 2 minutes. Without camouflage, no significant changes could be noticed on the vehicle. The rear tinted windows hid the batteries placed behind the front seats, the rear seats were removed.

Earlier, Oliver Blume said that the 911 Hybrid should be the leader of the new generation of models from the 911 family (992). The introduction of the 911 Turbo S E-Hybrid is expected in 2023, while the first models should arrive on the market in early 2024.
