2026 Toyota Urban Cruiser premiere

By the end of 2025, Toyota will launch six new electric models in the European market, one of which is the Urban Cruiser. This electric crossover was revealed on March 11 in Brussels.

The Urban Cruiser is larger than the Yaris Cross Hybrid and offers a more spacious interior thanks to its 2,700 mm wheelbase. Based on a new electric platform, Toyota has opted for LFP batteries for this model, which are longer-lasting and cheaper to produce than lithium-ion batteries. It comes with a Battery Care program, which includes a warranty of up to 10 years / 1 million kilometers.

The interior of the car is equipped with sliding rear seats that allow more space for passengers or luggage, a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, a 10.1-inch multimedia screen, 12-color interior lighting, adaptive cruise control, a collision avoidance system and a lane-keeping system, and buyers can optionally get a 360-degree camera, JBL sound system and a panoramic roof.

When it comes to the powertrain, buyers can choose between three versions. The first version is equipped with a single electric motor with 144 hp, a 49 kWh battery that allows a range of 300 kilometers, and has front-wheel drive. The second version offers front-wheel drive, 174 hp, front-wheel drive, and a 61 kWh battery that allows 400 kilometers on a single charge. The third version comes with all-wheel drive, 184 hp, and a 61 kWh battery and a range of 350 kilometers. This version has an additional 48 kW electric motor mounted on the rear axle, and is equipped with Downhill Assist Control and Trail Mode systems to help the driver on difficult terrain.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser will arrive in showrooms in Q3 2025.

2000 Honda S2000 sold at auction for $95,000

Between 1999 and 2009, Honda produced over 110,000 units of the open top sports car, the Honda S2000. It is a modern classic that still sells for a lot of money, and one example, a 2000 Honda S2000, recently sold for $95,000.

This Honda S2000 is in excellent condition and has only 42 miles (67 kilometers). Considering that the car has been driven very little in the past 25 years, it is no surprise that it has been perfectly preserved. It is finished in Silverstone metallic over a black interior. What makes this model special is that unlike most Honda cars, it has rear-wheel drive.

The previous owner was a buyer from New York, and it is not known who the new owner of this car is. The car was estimated at $60,000 – $80,000, but the new owner paid much more.

The Honda S2000 is powered by a 2.0-L DOHC inline-4 engine with 240 hp @ 8300 rpm and 153 lb-ft @ 7500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

VW ID.1 will be manufactured in Portugal

After Volkswagen unveiled the concept of its most affordable electric car, the ID. EVERY1, a few days ago, the company has now announced that the car will not be manufactured in Germany but at Autoeuropa in Setubal, Portugal.

VW CEO Thomas Schaefer believes that Autoeuropa is one of the most cost-efficient plants in Europe and believes that the ID.1 will play an important role in attracting new customers. In an interview with Autonews, Schaefer said that VW could use Chinese suppliers for various parts, which would reduce costs compared to locally produced components.

The ID. EVERY1 is not the final name of the car. Some rumors say that the most affordable car will be called the ID.1. It will be built on the modular MEB platform, like the ID. 2all, which has not yet entered production, and is expected to debut in 2026. It is 3,880 mm long, which means it is smaller than the ID. 2all (4,050 mm) and the current generation Polo (4,074 mm). The interior has a simple design with a large, centrally located touchscreen, buttons for controlling temperature, heating and sound volume. A removable Bluetooth speaker is located between the driver and front passenger. In front of the passenger is a changeable multi-function panel that can be used to attach various items such as a shelf or a tablet. The four-seater also offers a decent 305 liters of luggage space.

The production version of the ID.1 will hit the market in 2027 and will be powered by a single electric motor with 94 hp, and will have a top speed of 130 km/h (81 mph). It is not known which battery it will use, but VW promises a range of 250 kilometers.
