A lawsuit against Tesla worth $ 20 million

Five police officers have filed a lawsuit against Tesla seeking $ 20 million for serious injuries, including permanent disability. Autopilot is cited as the cause of the accident.

According to police officers, the accident happened seven months ago while they were searching a stopped vehicle. The lawsuit states:

“Due to the design and manufacturing defects known to Tesla, Tesla’s failure to adequately warn of those defects, and Tesla’s unwillingness to admit or correct such defects, the Autopilot and Tesla’s system safety features failed to detect the officers’ cars or to function in any way to avoid or warn of the hazard and subsequent crash. The officers want to hold Tesla accountable, and force Tesla to publicly acknowledge and immediately correct the known defects inherent in its Autopilot and collision avoidance systems, particularly as those impact the ongoing safety of our nation’s first responders, ”

Buzbee Law Firm and Muery & Ferrell PC, which represent police officers, believe such accidents happen across the country. Even the government recently asked Tesla to provide information about every accident that happened in which Tesla was on autopilot, and which includes police officers.

This is not the first accident that Tesla autopilot has been accused of. Florida police recently released footage of a similar accident that happened in August.
